LO has diarrhea and is home from day care with me. I don't know what to feed him. I have tried a bunch of BRAT (banana,, rice, applesauce, toast) but he hates applesauce and banana and is tired of bread. I am making some rice porridge now. Any other suggestions? He is asking for milk but I don't know if it's good for diarrhea. Oh and he has had yogurt too. Thanks!

if he wants milk, could you get some BRAT milk for him? they don't have it at all the stores near me, but i know wegman's has it. here's a link about it http://www.bratdiet.org/

what about making a panana pancake with rice flour instead of regular flour? Mash up the banana, add an egg, some rice milk and rice flour and fry it up. Still brat-y but different consistency to mix things up for him?

@prettylizy: thats a good idea to disguise the banana and do something different with it! Will have to try!

We would put the mashed up banana and applesauce on the toast. The other thing we did was boiled chicken for him to eat (still very bland). We were told NOT to do any dairy. His diarrhea lasted 3 weeks.

@brownie: wow three weeks is a really long time. If that happens to me I don't know what I would do.. Day care doesn't take them with diarrhea!

a rice porridge made with good quality chicken stock (preferably homemade).
