I almost exclusively wear thongs, and I know that's not going to fly after I give birth. What type of underwear did you wear after giving birth? Did you buy special maternity underwear or just regular? I feel like I shouldn't spend a ton of money because I'll be bleeding and all sorts of other nastiness could get on them. Anyone have any recommendations?

I haven't had baby yet, but I bought the same as @blackbird. They look comfy but are ugly enough that I won't mind them being tossed once I am through with them.

Hanes boy short & bikinis from target in one size up. I had to wear them at the end of my pregnancy too since my butt and hips had grown.

Cheapie cotton bikini style undies in a size up. They were perfect for pregnancy and post partum.

Hanes boy shorts or bikini cuts. I bought like 8 and threw then straight Ito the trash at about 5w-6w Pp (when i packed up my maternity clothing) and brought my thongs back out. I refused to let it become a habit and cramp my style!!

Hanes boy shorts...I bought them in a size bigger than my norm, but didn't actually need to do that. I actually wore the mesh hospital panties for like a week pp, lol--they were so comfy! I stole a huge package from my room.

i went to target and bought boy shorts and bikinis. i still wear them, they are comfy. but like @hilsy85 said, i wore the hospital-provided mesh panties for a week. they were gigantic and comfortable.

Hanes/Fruit of the Loom in boycut or hipster, comfy and cheap so I could throw them away if needed.

In the hospital the mesh ones, then after a day at home I wanted to feel semi normal, so cheap Hanes bikini in size up I bought just for post baby

The mesh undies from the hospital are AWESOME. I was so sad when I ran out. Then I switched to Hanes boyshorts. They're great for holding the huge pads, but I didn't like the thin-ish waistband--gave me a muffin top! The wide crotch was ideal.

I'm an exclusive thong wearer and had to buy high waisted cotton panties after an unexpected c section.

I hated the mesh undies from the hospital. I have very sensitive skin (must wash all new clothes before wearing) and the mesh panties gave me rashes on my hips/outer thighs. So itchy rashes + pp bleeding + newborn were a nightmare. I switched back to my regular normal undies right after I got the rashes.
