I'm just curious. Ive been have some bad back pain that started randomly. Odds are it's nothing. Have any of you ladies have back labor? How did it start? Was it suddenly just awful or did it build up?

Mine built up with my first. Like I was just sooooo uncomfortable and didn’t think it was anything but turned out to be early labor. I don’t know if it would have been such a slow buildup for a later baby though, since they tend to be faster.
For me, one key point has been can I get some relief in an epsom salt bath. If it helps my discomfort some it’s not labor. But take that with a huge grain of salt because only one time have I tried a bath and it actually was labor
Back labor is super not fun so I hope it’s labor if you want it but not back labor!

Before I went into labour with #2 and before my water broke with #3 I had the WORST back pain. In fact two hours before my water broke with #3, I just knew something was up because it was so bad and so different from regular back pain. Both times I was unable to sleep the night before because it was so sore!

It was terrible for me. Back labor started maybe an hour or two before I started pushing, but the epidural didnt work for me so I felt it all during active labor. It basically felt as if my back was breaking a little with every contraction. It was intense pain.
The first few hours after my water broke (I delivered my baby just 7 hours after my water broke) I dealt with pain and contractions, but not in my back. Not sure why I ended up with back labor once active labor started, but it was the worst and makes me super nervous to have another kid in case the same thing happens again.
I hope you dont have back labor!

Mine was weird because I had tailbone pain for my entire pregnancy. The day I went into labor, it was just as bad as it had been, no worse. The only clue I had that I might be in labor is that it *stopped* hurting for a little while, then came back. It slowly ramped up over 3 hours until I threw up from the pain. That's when we decided to leave for the hospital. Apparently my water broke at some point before I got to the hospital, but I have no idea when as there was never any "gush".
I have no memory of feeling anything that I would say was a contraction - just a constant, very sharp pain in my tailbone that gradually intensified. Once at the hospital, I couldn't comfortably open my eyes until the epidural kicked in. It doesn't sound like my experience was typical, and hopefully you won't have back labor!

I don't think it's back labor for me. Idk if it will be. I thought maybe it was the start of it cause my back was and still will hurt randomly and then just stop. It's not like a contraction so who knows what it's doing. I thinking body is just at the very end and just tired. I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow. I'm being induced the 30th and I doubt I'll go on my own before then.
