My first paid job was a swimming instructor when I was 15. Then I was a piano teacher when I was 18. Then I worked at the GAP for 7 years. Then I became a teacher.

My current profession, teacher, is my first real "grown up" job. But I hear people switch professions all the time...I wonder if I will?

I used to compete in piano competitions and got to keep my winnings. Then I started delivering one of the local weekly papers every Wednesday... then I started delivering the other one as well. I eventually started serving as a substitute carrier for the Washington Post on random routes, until I was able to pick up my local route in 9th grade.

My first job was dog walker/poop scooper at a doggie kennel. I learned something about dog kennels then - the nice dogs get a lot of attention, the jerk dogs don't.
My second job that lasted through College until I started working in my profession was lifeguarding. MAN I loved that gig. In the winter, I worked at Walmart as a cashier or at the school business office - when I got to college.

My first job was at Sears at the children's department. I applied because it was the only place in the mall that would hire you with punk rock green hair. I worked there until I graduated high school. I ate a Cinnabon every single day. Those were the days where I could!

My first “real” job (not counting babysitting/petsitting and other under the table type gigs), was working at a pizza parlor. I made pizza and sandwiches and things like that, ran the cash register, took orders, coordinated deliveries, etc. I started when I was 15, and by the time I was 18 I managed the place on weekends and did payroll for the company.
I also taught private violin lessons from ages 15-17.

It involved getting my picture taken with kids, walking around doing meet and greets, etc. My first adult job was as a paralegal for a law firm. I now actually use my BA and do marketing for law firms (but only for 16 more days - then I will be a SAHM!)

I did a lot of babysitting, even more than the average teenage girl I think including nannying for a couple families in the summers. My first job with a W2 was as a bank teller. I started in April of my senior year in HS and worked there all through college. It was the best place to work, with the best boss and coworkers until it went from a small family owned bank to a huge, corporate bank. Hated working there after that and couldn't wait to quit.

My first "jobs" were nannying for neighbors and baking and selling bread, but my first real job was an internship as an editorial assistant at a magazine when I was 15. Since then I worked at Taco Bell, as an Au Pair, a kindergarten teacher, an ESL teacher, and a grant writer.
