Not entirely unexpected, but our dental insurance is a tricky bastard and I don't like the way they do math.
My bill was higher than expected!!

We took our SUV to the mechanic and it was initially supposed to be a $700 repair but of course there were some additional issues (of course, aren't there always?)... DH end up forking over $1500 tonight, arghhh...
And last week we had to pay a bill for my in-laws that was $800

Oh no! I feel like car trouble bills are the worst!
My latest was not quite unexpected because it was a medical bill but I didn't expect it to be so expensive (it was for a sick visit my DD had 2 weeks ago)

@Arden: oh no! how scary. glad he's okay and hope he can go back soon.
well, we got a bill from the IRS from our 2012 taxes for $2K but we had the paperwork to back it up, so hoping that goes away.

We have to get a new washing machine.
Ours went out last week. I am flabbergasted at how much those suckers cost!

Hopefully something for the garden ... maybe another tree? Our favorite local garden center just announced that it's closing down and everything is 1/2 off. Today is the first day, but I'm guessing most will be gone by the time we get there.

We finally received all of our bills from E's birth. Let's just say I was supposed to get my hair done this morning and now we are wondering if we really do want another kid down the line. I really have it in my mind to have at least 3 kids.
I knew there would be bills I guess I just didn't think the bills would be this high.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: do you have a Sears scratch and dent around you? They sell new machines with minor cosmetic damage for so much less!
@MrsRcCar: ugh, I'm so sorry Can you call and negotiate or spread out payments?

Nothing super major, but our lawn mower took a crapper and we had to get a new one. Although we bought a new used one to save some money.

@LovelyPlum: plan is to call today to see what can be done. Hope you find a reasonable car payment. Sorry about your car.

Not outrageously expensive, but unexpected: We went on vacation in FL the first week of June. Well, last week we received a bill from "Toll-by-Plate"--instead of having to stop at a toll booth, they just track your license plate number and send you a bill! I had no idea this existed!

@meganmp: they should be! Check with your insurance. I for a bill for lo's vaccines and it turned out they were counting his pediatrician as "out of network" even though she was in network.
We had a problem with our sprinkler system, plumbing, fridge, and ac last week! On the bright side, LO loooved seeing all the repair men here. He kept saying, "guys working! Big working!" Luckily none were huge expenses.

After 6 years our boat broke down and was in the shop for 6 weeks. $700 later....

Ugh, so sorry! Ours was car stuff too. Random fix-ups so DH's car could pass inspection. Blah!

Two months after signing the papers to build our new house, the builder asked us for 25% of the total cost of our upgrades. That was another 9k on top of the 5% we have already given them.

The repair/gear replacement bills for my husbands bike, helmet and gear after he was hit by a car on his way home from work. The drivers insurance will eventually cut us a cheque, but it could take 6 months to a year to settle things completely.

Anesthesiologist bill, 4 months later, hopefully the last of our birth bills. My husband started to complain, but I shut that down real fast since Dr. L is my hero and I will pay whatever it takes for his sweet, sweet druggy goodness
And a cracked radiator among other issues on our work car, I told him it would be wise to get the issue fixed before I came home from work in a new car on a 110* day from lack of cooling. Not kidding, this ginger does not tolerate heat well.

Blackberry removal and some landscape work. It was supposed to be from a "cheap" guy but when we got the $2010 bill I almost had a heart attack. Never letting a guy do work without a bid again!

Preschool enrollment fee. I guess I should have remembered from last year but I didn't realize it was every year.

@808love: thanks, Hun. We are grieving and moving forward. It's just hard that we now have a bunch of debt and nothing to show for it

Dentist for two people and the people that built the house we live in installed the septic incorrectly. Sigh.
