DS - no change - I suggested and he said ok
DD - he did mention Sarah but I wasn't a fan

Dd was almost an Emerson (had she been a boy)
DS#1 and DS#2 would have been Gemma or Tessa if they had been girls
DS#2 was almost an Emmett or Asher.

Taylor was on our list for girl names but once we got pregnant, I took it off.

Love those names!
We only had one boy name, and we used it. But should we have a second, James.
For a girl, Natalie (my grandmother and great-grandmother), Caroline (her sister, my great-aunt) and DH wanted Emma.
Should we have a second and a girl, Natalie with a family name middle name is it.

Amelia for a girl, but decided it was too popular.
Bennett for a boy.

Elias if we'd had a boy. We used our top two girls names since we had two girls.
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
Evan would have been Evan regardless (it was the only boy name we agreed on then), but his middle name could have been either Howard, David or Russell (instead of Charles).
Our girl names were:
Grace Catherine (still a front-runner for a girl)
Amelia Grace
Eleanor Grace

We were team green. We settled in our girl name pretty early and never wavered. If she was a boy we were leaning towards Xavier or Jason. Earlier we had decided on Lucas but when I was pregnant it didn't feel right.

If #2 was a girl, she would have been Alina. But #2 is a boy, so the name stays in the bank! E was always going to be E.

Our final list for A was: Alice, Lila, Kate, Anna (ended up with Alice)
Our final list for B was: Blake, Sam, Luke, Graham (ended up with Blake)
I let my husband pick the combination of boy/girl names, but by that point we had talked it to death and had the same favorites.

I don't remember an alternate for DD
I really wanted DS to be Elliot. Now I can't imagine it, of course

@mrs. wagon: :O Those names! I can't imagine!!
Our only almost-name was Eric! We went with Marcus instead.

He was either going to be: Dylan, Patrick, or Elliott (or if I really had my way - Hunter). My husband chose Dylan.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
DD1- Everly, Lynden, DH wanted Kendall
DD2- Meredith, Lyla, Mila, DH liked Quinn

Our finalists were Finn, Henry, and John. The middle name was always going to be Thomas. He ended up being Finn. Thank god we didn't pick John, DH's cousin later informed us that according to Monty Python, "John Thomas" is slang for penis! We had no idea!

We knew she was a girl and agreed on her name shortly after finding out the sex. Other top contenders were Emma, Emily, and Kate. She would've been Henry or Benjamin if she'd been a boy.

Never had another choice for DD DH had the name possibly before we were even pregnant!

Ds was gonna be emmylynn if a girl. No alternate boy name.
Ds#2 was going to be emery. Or levi. We used declan levi instead.

@twodoghouse: we have the exact same taste I have a Graeme who was going to be an Alice if he was a girl!

DS1's name was set in stone before we were even engaged and we didn't seriously talk about names until we knew what we were having. I figured why fight about a girl name if we weren't having one! But I think he would have been Eleanor nn Ella.
With DS2, we had a hard time and had a list of names but he would have been Maeve if he was a girl.

DD could've been an Adrianna, Olivia, Natalie, or Vivian. DS might've ended up being an Oliver, Asher, or Nathaniel!

Dylan was our #2. Ethan was our name going into ttc but we took it off our list early on.
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
T was almost Marco, Sawyer, Archer, and Beau at one point. At least those were the boy names seriously considered by either DH or myself at one point
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
DS was almost Hudson, Atticus, or Maximus.
DD would have been Geneva nn Eva had my cousin not named her baby Genevieve. As it turns out Geneva wouldn't have fit DD so I'm glad it happened the way it did.
grapefruit / 4823 posts
We didn't seriously discuss names until we knew gender.
DS: the only other name we threw around was Hunter.
DD: we had two names going in when DD was born. She was thisclose to being an Everly.
grapefruit / 4819 posts
We were TG both times.
DD1 was always going to be E if she was a girl. Had she been a boy, we never really settled on a name but would likely have been James, Oliver, or Cameron.
DD2 could have been an Olivia, Claire, or Victoria. Had she been a boy, she would have been James Christopher or Christopher James.
eggplant / 11287 posts
DD1 Was either going to be her name, Everly, or Hazel.
DD2 was either going to be her name or Francesca.
