@Mrsjets: Yes!! Pearl Jam is my favorite concert by far. I've seen them 4 times and would go again in a second.
I also loved Billy Joel (1998), Neil Young (2007), and My Morning Jacket (2006).

seeing U2 live was one of the most incredible experiences ever. I had been a fan since I was a child!
We saw Phish on their first night back from their breakup/hiatus (the show sold out in like 10 minutes so it was amazing we even got tickets!). The energy in that arena was like nothing i've ever felt before! It was awesome.

Luke Bryan! I saw him in a little hole in the wall barn when he only had 2 songs out. That show was AMAZING! We even got to meet him and got his autograph after totally unplanned. I saw him again with Jason Aldean recently. Another amazing show!

Prince. Ween. Wilco. Radiohead.
I've seen hundreds of shows, but now if I don't have good seats its not really worth it to me (besides having to find a babysitter!). I must be getting old because I complain about all the people talking and how my feet hurt standing there for hours.

@winniebee: I am sooooo jealous! I am a HUGE Billy Joel fan (in fact, most people are, they just don't know it!) . . . that must have been freaking amazing!

I saw Milli Vanilli live in concert. It rocked my world.
As far as people who actually sing go, Paul Simon was amazing (back during his Rhythm of the Saints days when he had the entire African drum band up on stage with him), Dave Matthews Band was an awesome concert experience, and U2, although we were so far I couldn't really see anything. And Radiohead.
.... aaaaand I just totally dated myself with those answers.

Wilco and REM are amazing live! I've seem them both many times (obvi rem was awhile ago since they broke up) and they always rocked so hard!

I'm a country music fan - my favorite was Tim McGraw/Kenny Chesney. Also loved Brad Paisley (but that was more because I had REALLY awesome seats).

I haven't been to many concerts for myself but I've been to a few with Wagon Sr. Muse is incredible live.

Bon Jovi. I saw him twice. Decades ago when he first was popular and a few years ago, right before I became pregnant. I love his voice, the music and his off stage presence as well.

Justin Timberlake hands down the best performance, he danced/sang/performed for 5+ hours straight and Timberland made an appearance as well.
George Strait because it is just him ad his guitar singing hit after hit after hit...loved it.
Runner Ups: Lady Antebellum (great chemistry), Taylor Swift (seriously she can rock a stage), & Pink (her Cirque act is pretty sweet!)

I've been to a lot of concerts and still try to get to a handful a year, but I saw Paul McCartney in May and it blew my mind. It's the only time I've cried at a concert. So so amazing.
Coldplay is always good, and Foo Fighters are a lot of fun. I just saw Mumford in Sept. and they were excellent, as well.

@lavender: YES!!! They were there for two nights and the night that I was there it started pouring rain when Counting Crows were singing "The Rain King". It was awesome.

@JoJoGirl: That Paul Simon concert sounds awesome. Graceland is one of my favorite albums of all time.

We saw Imagine Dragons last year at a small/intimate venue before they blew up, and it was amazing! They were such a passionate, uplifting band - so much energy!!
Also anyone at the Ryman in Nashville is amazing bc the venue doesn't have a bad seat. Saw both Death Cab for Cutie and Amos Lee there.

I went to a Jack Johnson concert several years back. It was all afternoon/evening long, with several bands from his record label. Outdoors...beautiful weather...awesome music. Loved it.

@thismustbetheplace: I was at that Phish show - it was my first! An absolutely AMAZING vibe and show.
I saw Garth Brooks in '98, he was an AMAZING performer.
I saw David Byrne a few years ago in a small local auditorium - he was great.
John Hiatt + Lyle Lovett put on a great show. And if you'd ever hear Lyle lovett sing you would get why Julia Roberts marry him. Serious inexplicable hotness.
I saw the Avett Brothers at Firefly this year and would see them again in a heartbeat.
And i am super, super, super excited to see George Strait in February, and Paul Simon and Sting in March!

@nana87: I saw Wilco this summer and Jeff Tweedy commented on the LED balloons we threw into the crowd. I felt semi-famous.
Also, Wilco and My Morning Jacket were a great show.

@Kimberlybee: @MrsHighHeels: I saw Slave 4 U - era Britney, and it was amazing!
The last concert I went to was Ray LaMontagne. He is dreamy.
I'm so sad we missed/are going to miss two awesome concerts in our area - Justin Timberlake was here last night (and this is his hometown, so I'm sure it was an awesome show!) and John Mayer will be here while we're out of town for Thanksgiving. Boo hiss.

@runnerd: LOVE Amos Lee! We only live a couple of hours from Nashville... DH and I need to plan a weekend soon and see a couple of shows while we're in town.

Garth Brooks did 5 shows in 2 days in 2007 benefiting fire relief after some bad wildfires in southern California. I think we went to show #3 or #4, sat in the absolute LAST ROW of the Staples Center, but it was the most amazing concert ever.

@grizz: and I love ray lamontagne, so I'm jealous of you!!!
One of my fave things is when singers talk to the crowd, and Amos Lee was awesome, telling stories, and background behind songs! And he sang one song without the mic, pretty interesting - the ryman got so quiet!!! Def see him if you get the chance ever.

@raintreebee: Biggest regret of my life was not seeing them in the summer of 1993...I was 16 and would have had to basically run away from home to go, and I was too much of a chicken. But I so wish I'd done it

@runnerd: We are definitely going to keep an eye out for when he plays nearby next! We keep a concert 'wish-list' and he's always on it!

@ScarletBegonia: Ahh. Sorry to hear it! I was fortunate enough to have seen them about 30 times. My mom was a big fan...

@raintreebee: Wow I am insanely jealous. I just wish I had been a little bit older and less under my parents' thumbs! Did you go to shows as a kid? Teenager?
pear / 1531 posts
@ScarletBegonia: I started going as a teenager and saw the last show with Jerry at Soldier Field. I am very fortunate!

She & Him, Willie Nelson, and John Prine were my all time favorites. They were all GREAT live and in intimate venues.

I haven't been to many concerts, but Tool is one of the best ones I've been too.

justin timberlake and timbaland (the concert that was filmed for hbo) and the indigo girls at the beacon theater, which is a seated venue with a bar (old person heaven).

@lavender: I'm going to see Third Eye Blind next month! To me, they're kind of old and washed up, but it'll be fun for all the high school memories.
I just saw Big Freedia in concert last night, and that concert had some of the coolest energy of any show I've ever been to. Capital Cities put on one of the best shows I've ever been to, and Walk the Moon does a great one. I'm seeing Lorde next month, and I have very high expectations for that.
