We test drove the Honda Pilot and really liked it, but we also recently got a Prius Hybrid Plug-In and we adore that too, so we're wondering if a Prius V (the longer one with more truck room) would be good as a family car. Can't beat the mileage!

We just test drove a Honda Odyssey and I am smitten!! Currently have a Subaru Outback sport but it's just too small for us and with #2 on the way we need more room. I love Subarus and would be into getting a bigger one, but those automatic doors on the Odyssey are AMAZING. That being said, I don't know that we are willing to pay so much for a minivan.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: @Freckles: @QueensBee: @PurplePumps: @Mrs. Pen @grizz: another Subaru family here. Went from a Legacy to Impreza to my current car the Crosstrek. I LOVE my crosstrek!

A minivan! And I can't wait! Not sure which, but I'm going to look at Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey and a Town & Country. It probably won't be for 2 years(or sooner if DH car finally craps out on us). I can't believe how exited I will be to get one! Haha

Not sure, but we need to figure it out SOON. We are currently car less after an accident and need to buy one in the next few weeks. Leaning towards Subaru Forester, though.

For all the Subaru lovers...how are they on repairs, cost wise? Our mechanic actually warned us away from Subarus because he said they cost a lot to repair.

@Danizaur: The Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG has 621 horsepower (there's also the RR Ghost-V spec and the Bentley Flying Spur W12, but I'm *keepin' it real* with just the Merc! :P) . But the HC's 6.2-liter Hemi V8 is the most powerful V8 engine Chrysler has ever made. It will be interesting to see the performance specs when they are released.
ETA: And while the Porsche Panamera Turbo S has 570 HP, its 0-60 is a jaw-dropping 3.6 seconds . . . I LOVE cars!

We would love to get an electric car for our next one. The dream is a Tesla sedan. More reasonable might be a Leaf or a plugin Prius. We also need to keep one car that can handle long highway trips for my commute -- right now we have a Subaru Forrester and a VW Jetta TDI Sportwagon. I would purchase either of those cars again in a heartbeat.

@yoursilverlining: our 4runner has 200,000 miles on it! Love that car!

Something with a third row. I love my CR-V. Maybe a Pilot? MDX? It needs to be big. Maybe a suburban. Ugh.

@Mrs. Jacks: Mine has just over 100k miles and has needed literally ONE repair that wasn't your normal scheduled maintenance. I usually don’t feel too much loyalty to my cars, but I’ve had her for 5 years and I do feel guilty when I think about trading her in; especially if we’ll be good for another 100k miles!!

@MsLipGloss: the dealer we talked to said it was going to be a random lottery for the HC.

@MrsH: Works for me - it's not my ideal, but I understand the appeal.

@Danizaur: p.s. I'm trading in my charger today because it is pretty impossible to get LO in and out of the convertible car seat

@yoursilverlining: we finally replaced the clutch at 200,000 just to be safe. Otherwise we haven't really done much in the way of repairs.

@Skadi: Thank you for posting this, I think our second vehicle will be an Elio! We currently share a Civic Hybrid and I was looking for something inexpensive that also had great MPG for my husband to drive to work so that I can use the Civic and this fits the bill

@MrsH: Oh no!!!! We haven't gotten to the convertible car seat stage yet!!

@swedishfish: it is costly. I had to repair my subaru once while I had one and it was a little more costly... and when DH crashed it, the cost of repairs was more than the worth of the car so we sold it. But it wasn't until 220k miles that that happened.

@Mrs. Pen: I really like the new look of the Toyota Highlander! We have a 2011 model and still like it a lot.

I love the look/feel of an Acura MDX but the gas mileage isn't amazing so I'm still undecided!

We just bought a Pilot in December, love it!
@Skadi: My parents just pre-ordered theirs! They're moving to the coast and they'll use it for commuting back to where I live.

@MrsH: Nice! We almost bought that car, but opted for the VW Touareg diesel when we bought one last year. Diesel is totally the way to go for bigger/heavier cars-my mileage is better with this car than with the wagon I had before. Enjoy it!
