We've been eating take out soooooo much since I had my surgery. I'm not feeling well enough to cook and my mom is too busy taking care of LO. But tonight my mom and I decided to make a slow cooker meal- pot roast with carrots and peas. Can't wait!

We're making burgers and tater tots. I'll probably get some sort of veggie to go with it, too. Maybe a salad.

@jessiejo17: Lol, I never get to have Chinese because it's bad for DH's belly. But I'm always thinking about it! Hopefully your friends understand how serious cravings are and let you have it!

@artbee: me too! There was a point early in my pregnancy where I could eat them everday! I dip them in rsnch dressing. So good!

@artbee: Haha well the other girl is 9 months pregnant, I'm guessing she won't be denying it either, she's my go to Chinese food partner in crime! ha

@MamaMoose: Yummy! I wish I had a non creamy recipe, my husband can't do dairy.
@bpcmarj: Mmmmm. We ordered some the other day at a restaurant and they gave us about 15 servings worth. I was eating them for days!
@jessiejo17: My mom swears Chinese helps bring on labor. She had it for all 3 of her kids the night before we were born. Didn't work with me though. But it could be a good way to coax her if she for some reason isn't in the mood. But you're right, I doubt that would happen!

@artbee: Spaghetti bake and roasted broccoli. If you lived by me, I would bring you some home cooked food!!
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
@Andrea: Awww you're so sweet! Is there cheese in your spaghetti bake? I always see it on Pinterest but there's always cheese and DH can't have that. Do you think it would be good without it? If so.... I want your recipe!
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@artbee: yes, mine has cheese involved but i remember my mom used to make it with no cheese. she would just make regular spaghetti and then bake it for a while. i dunno, it just tastes a bit better that way!

Picked up a rotisserie chicken at the grocery store earlier. Will probably make a salad and some quinoa along side it. Too lazy to cook today. LO had a rough night last night and we're all feeling like zombies today.

I have the WEIRDEST craving-- Korean food!! I am Korean but I have never liked Korean food. My parents would cook Korean while I was growing up and I'd have a frozen lasagna. We'd be the family in the Korean restaurant with the kid with the McDonald's happy meal... my bro loves Korean food too so I'm just a weird one. But on the way home tonight I was totally craving Korean so Rob Sr. is out picking some up from the ONLY Korean place nearby. He ordered bulgogi bibimbap and I got kalbi tang, and I ordered one (cooked) sushi roll too. SO EXCITED.
Although reading the chinese food thread made me want chinese food now...!!! I'm trying to concentrate on the Korean so it's not disappointing now that I'm craving chinese instead!!! haha.

@banana: aw, thanks! i have gotten really into cooking for the LO. but no, i don't blog because i feel like so many people already have amazing blogs and my blog would just be lame! did you ever get a slow cooker??
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
omg. I just finished my Korean food meal and it was SO GOOD. I am so full, so happy, and am so going to be in pain in about 10 minutes.
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
@mrs. wagon: yay! Glad my Chinese food post didn't ruin it for you.

@andrea: It won't be lame! I would totally follow your food blog!
I bought my slow cooker but haven't tried it out yet. I'm not sure what to try first! I was thinking about some sort of chicken thing but my husband hates cheese and creamy sauces. And most of the recipes I've found involve creamy sauce or sweet sauce (can't have sweet sauce because of my gest. diabetes). So i'm kind of limited right now.
Any recipe ideas that don't involve creamy or sweet sauces?
Now I'm totally craving the Spaghetti Bake you mentioned earlier!
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@artbee: haha! Yes... with the first bite of soup all thoughts of Chinese food were out the window. Tomorrow night, though....
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@banana: you're too sweet! yes, a lot of recipes do involve cheese and cream. i cook a lot of things using it but i find that pork recipes come out the best for me in the slow cooker. so flavorful and tender. here are my favorite pork ones but they do have sugar:

I am craving matzo ball soup! But I will probably eat cereal!
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
@banana: my husband can't ear dairy so we stay away from creamy and cheesy. One of our favorite chicken dishes is chicken tacos. Put some garlic and paprika on the chicken, the pour salsa over it. Cook on low 7 hours. Then pull it and serve with whatever taco stuff that you like.

@andrea: Thanks for the recipes! I'm gonna bookmark those links for sure!
@artbee: That sounds so good and yummy! I might try that tonight since I already have all of those ingredients!
