@LindsayInNY: RIP man in the mountain
Where are all my MA bees? Ok, here are some iconic images of Boston (I grew up in the 'burbs). Unfortunately the last one is what we're known for lately

@LindsayInNY: nope I live in Manchevegas now, but I grew up in Salem ...not the witch one but the Canobie Lake Park One!

@LindsayInNY: @Shutterbug: Haha RIP -- that was my thought too after seeing that pic. Memories!

I live near Boston now, but grew up just south of Pittsburgh - famous for our three rivers, incline, and Heinz ketchup

I grew up in Nebraska...we have very few claims to fame so here are some of my favorites
College football team rules our state, and shuts down the entire state capital on game days.
And we have one of the top rated zoos in the World, with an indoor rainforest, huge aquarium, and a doomed desert. It's one of my favorite places!

I grew up right by the Microsoft campus. It wasn't so big when I was little of course. I could also walk to Nintendo headquarters from my parents' house... nerdy.

@pmerr: Rochester is my "American" home (DH is from Palmyra, we met at the UR and lived in the city for 6 years). Garbage plates are *totally* iconic and essential - Wegman's too!

West Edmonton Mall... Used to be the biggest shopping mall in the world. Fun fact: it opened on the day I was born, so I've always said I was born to shop.

We are pretty well known for beaches, big houses, cranberry cocktails, and Kennedys. The town I grew up in is the home of the writer of "America the Beautiful".

@runnerd: Haha thanks. Wish I could take the credit for the photography!
There are some amazing places in this thread. Gives me "itchy feet" - I want to travel more

I grew up in the northern NJ suburbs. We would spend all summer at the gorgeous Jersey shore. And high points of my town had an amazing view of NYC- we were only about 20 miles away where I lived. It was so fun and easy to pop into "the city" for visits, or to drive "down the shore" on a weekend.

OH YEAH and if we're talking food too... it would be this... BAGELS AND PIZZA! I'm headed back home on Friday for a long weekend and this is all I can think about.

@littlebug: Was going to do this, but technically grew up next door in Palmyra, so I have to go with these pictures:

I grew up at the Jersey Shore. My tiny town is "famous" for the second picture. Anyone know what it is?

I grew up in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Thinking of home makes me imagine bridge-tunnels, Virginia Beach, and the Navy Base.

I grew up and still live in a small town in the Appalachia. The mountain views around here still take my breath away and are always a sight for sore eyes when I come home from traveling. This is the view every where you look.
Also this is where the first, original KFC was started. You're welcome America. Haha!!

@mrsbookworm: Clerks! Nice! Are you from Leonardo? (I was obsessed with Kevin Smith movies in high school!)

@tigger223: Aww...Palmyra and those darn sinkholes. My mom and step-dad live in Palmyra now, across from what used to be the movie theater!
