What has your child asked for or what is 1 item you are planning to get?
Zuma sat at my mom's and played a toy piano for like an hour the other day, so baby girl is getting a baby baby grand piano!

I'm a little crazy with holiday gifts - I hoard sales. DD is finally getting the cog wheels kit I bought on Zulily 2 years ago! She's also getting a Brio train set we bought during the summer (DH wanted it) and a new Corolle baby doll I bought in the spring complete with a matching outfit and felt diapers I got from a sweet lady on Etsy.

This is where I got the felt diapers. They're so well made!!! Buy 4 get 1 free. https://www.etsy.com/shop/BellasInspirations

We're doing a play kitchen from ikea and all the accessories, some outfits and PJs to get us through the winter and maybe some little people toys. We're going to see if the grandparents want to do a zoo membership for the family oh and books! books are always on the list

His Christmas list though contains lots of stuff including books, blocks, balls, a potty training supplies!

Looking at her list, I may save the doll and accessories for New Years or Valentine's Day. Maybe even her birthday next summer! All of those new small parts from the other toys will be too overwhelming (for me)!

My daughter is getting a doll that comes with an extra outfit and toy puppy (she has a rag doll but I wanted to get her a more "realistic" looking doll), and a big board book that has letters, numbers, colors, etc in it, and a sticker book. We try to keep it to 4 gifts, not sure what the last one will be or what I will put on her Christmas list that my mom requests!

play food and pots, a set of Lincoln Logs, and some kind of truck, and probably a couple books
I know my parents bought her a tool set and my mom is thinking dress-up clothes too.

@blackbird: my step mom got my DS a mini trampoline when he was 1 - he is now 6 and still uses it - one of the best gifts we ever got!!!
DS wants legos - just legos!
DD wants a pink doll
no clue what else we will get them!

We're going to try limiting to something you need, something to wear, something to read, something to share. This is the plan so far:
Need - Zoli straw cups (unless I buy them sooner)
Wear - matching Christmas PJs
Read - Polar Express and the Jolly Christmas Postman
Share - the Radio Flyer Walker
I'm also planning on getting Baby's 1st Christmas ornaments.

She's getting a play kitchen from us. My parents are getting her a vtech zoo animals thing & IL's are getting her a sandbox.

@lawbee11: that's smart to have the grandparents give toys that go along with the main gift!
I have no idea yet, but I need to hurry. Both of my LO's birthdays are just weeks from Christmas.

No idea! I am usually more organized and at least have some ideas, but this year, my husband has vetoed everything I have suggested....such as magnatiles and a tent.

DS wants a laptop- we'll see about that. MIL and FIL are willing to buy it, but he wants it for gaming and a decent one is way expensive.
DD looves playing dress up, so we will probably get her some dress up clothes/accessories, and she also loves baby dolls, so maybe a new doll.

DD is getting a table with chairs, she's really into coloring, ect. right now so I want an area she can have to do that. I'm also getting her an easel to go with that idea.

Something about Christmas shopping gets me all antsy haha.
@twodoghouse: I tried to do that, but I can't narrow it down to 1 in each section.
@SugarplumsMom: yes!!! Zuma has 4 little dolls and I have a local lady here that makes them matching clothes. Glad I'm not the only one lol. Those diapers are so cute!!
honeydew / 7586 posts
We bought him a play kitchen, play food, and kinetic sand. I'll most likely buy a few books, art supplies, and stocking stuffers. I'm trying really hard not to go overboard.
honeydew / 7230 posts
@anonysquire: Yeah, notice I'm going to *try*, haha! We'll see if I can be that self-controlled. The grandparents are over buyers anyway so I figure things will just get it excessive if we all buy them a ton of things!
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
Cozy Coupe, books, magnatiles. Maybe something Elmo themed!
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
@twodoghouse: hmm, good point about the grandparents. I know my husband's parents won't send her anything but my parents might go a little cray cray. I hope someone buys her a puppy lol.

We are getting her a kitchen and pots and pans. Not sure what else, probably some Minnie stuff. I think my brother is getting her the food. My sister is getting her a easel. My parents got her. Bitty baby and doctor set. Told the ILs to get her a 3 in 1 tricycle.

@photojane: I haven't seen a cookie set like that - that looks like so much fun! L loves the M&D cake set kind of like it
L is getting a kitchen (so I keep saying, I'd better start making it though..). If I got her what she WANTED, it would just be a tree full of Minnie stuff. I did find some adorable Minnie dolls at the Dollar store though.
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@photojane: I love that! We have a reindeer puzzle from M&D!
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
She's getting some Frozen dolls, kitchen supplies and a train set. I'm not sure what my parents are giving her.

I think the question is.. where do you put all the new things they will get? Oh toy rotation
the play kitchen was the big ticket item this year and perhaps a "family" train set for around the tree

@swurlygurl: Got it on Amazon! I am so tempted to take them out and play with them myself! You're making her kitchen?! So cool. Are you using an old cabinet?

I think I will get the kids a shared gift--a play kitchen. I might get each kid one other gift.
