DH and I saw Maleficent on Saturday night...it was really good! I did have a judgy parenting moment when I was shocked by how many kids were in the theater (I realize it's rated PG but it also didn't start until 9:20!).

We just saw Edge of Tomorrow on Saturday. We went solely based on the (good) reviews... based on the trailer it really isn't my kind of movie. It was really good though!

We won tickets to see Blended a few weeks ago, but before that it had been 3 years since we went to the theater.

I can't even remember. Since before E was born. The last Bourne movie, I think?

@mrsjyw: I opened this thread to also write "Anchorman 2, unfortunately". So bad. We went with friends on boxing day when LO was only four months old, and I fell asleep about 2/3 of the way through. That glorious nap was the best part of the whole movie.

Blended - before that it had been a few years for me, DH goes to see movies with the guys sometimes

Gravity, I think that was in the fall? Before that, it had been in Oct 2012 right before LO was born!

The secret life of walter mitty, which came out in november, I think? Its been a while, lol.

The last TWO times I went to the movies was to see Divergent. I saw it, liked it, read the books, and then wanted to watch it again.
Neighbors looks very funny, I do want to see it! Also want to see Maleficient and Fault in Our Stars.

DH and I went to see The Fault in Our Stars on Friday. I've read the books and knew it was sad, but I cried for like half of the movie. The pregnancy hormones didn't help. And I kept thinking about it from a mom perspective which I didn't think about when I read the books because I wasn't pregnant then. It was sooo good though!

Captain America 2. I love going to the movies but we haven't been going very often lately. Too expensive when we can do a movie night at home.

@Mrs.ThinMint: DH won't go see it with me because I re-read the book last week and was a pathetic sobbing mess. He said he's not dealing with that in a movie theater, haha.

@wonderstruck: Yeah, DH just thought it was a love story until we pulled into the parking lot and I told him I would probably cry. He said why? I thought it was just a love story? I said yeah it is a love story about kids with cancer. So, he didn't have much choice! I was sobbing! But the theatre was full and everyone else was crying, too, so I didn't feel bad.

We got on a movie kick before the Oscars. (She, American Hustle, Frozen, etc.) Before that it had been a while. Our local movie theater has $5 movies, so we've been taking advantage of that.
I think the last one we saw was the Monuments Men. I want to see The Fault in Our Stars soon, but I might wait until it comes to Netflicks so I can cry in privacy.

@grizz: Want to see that!!
I think the last was Anchorman 2 in December!! I was pregnant with DD and she would kick so much during movies we stopped going.

@TemperanceBrennan: $5 movies?!?! like current movies?? we have a little movie theater that plays older movies, like ones that are just coming out on DVD, for $5.50, but the regular theater is $9 something for a matinee & evenings are $12 or $13 i think. i would go to way more movies for $5! wow, that's great!

@mrs. bird: Yep, current releases, but it's only on Tuesdays! It's Marcus Theaters, they are in the upper midwest. It's not valid for 3D or "special features" but it's awesome.
We NEVER went to movies because they were so expensive. We try to go more often now.

@Shutterbug: good to hear a positive review. I'm kind of tired of Tom Cruise and feel like he's played this role so many times before, but my husband wants to go.
We saw X-Men, and I can't remember the last movie before that. Movies are expensive, so it has to be something I really want to see on the big screen!

The second Hunger Games at IMAX. I love movies but i hate hate hate going to the movie theater. DH often goes by himself or with friends. We go together maybe twice a year.
