Husband: 9 miles by car (electric, with free charging station at the office)
Me: 3x week we carpool, other 2x I have a monster commute that clocks in at 1.5 hours each way.

Me: 15minutes via bus with LO to daycare and a 5 minute walk across campus from the daycare to work it takes longer to drive to work than it does to walk and take the bus
DH: 15 minutes via bus in the opposite direction.

45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic. Snow is the one exception, coming in at 90 minutes plus.

On the way to work, 25 mins. The way home35-45. I live in the city and work in the burbs so that is aganist traffic. DH travels and when home works at home mostly. But when he needs to go to the office, 30 mins+ depending on traffic. So the house is a good middle ground.

Mine is about 20 minutes from home or 20-30 from daycare, depending on traffic. It's generally against traffic, but the merge of two highways always slows things down in the morning. Mornings where I teach at 8 am are kinda dicey, since daycare only open s at 7:30.
DH works at home, so his is 10 steps. Since we only have one car, cutting out his commute has been huge for our family.

I commute 45-75 mins depending on what schools I am at that day. I'm an SLP in a rural board. Lots of farm schools and lots of driving!
DH has a 50 minute commute to work.
My commute doesn't bother me. I love drinking my coffee and listening to my podcasts.

Mine is technically a 25 min walk, but since I do daycare drop-off/pick-up, it generally takes 40 min.
DH's is 45-60 min via public transportation.

me, ~40-45 min in the am, 35 in the afternoon.
DH - 35 minutes, he takes back roads and doesn't really hit traffic.

Mine is usually about an hour each way, depending on traffic - it should be about 35 minutes but once this winter it snowed and took me 3 hours. I also leave my house at 6:20am to try to avoid the worst of the traffic.
My husband's commute is about the same, maybe a bit more, but on transit - 15 minute drive to the train station, 40 minutes on a commuter train, and then a short walk.

Me: 15min each way on the days I commute directly to/from; 40-50 on the days I do daycare drop-off/pick-up.
Sweetie: 40min each way, minus two telework days. Sweetie does daycare on telework days.

30 min door to my desk with daycare drop off.
If DH is doing drop off, it takes my about 5 minutes to drive to work, and 10 to walk from the back of our huge parking lot.
ETA; DH and I work at the same place, so his is the exact same, just on different days.

me: WAH mostly, so no commute, but then i photograph on location so travel anywhere from 1-4 hours for weddings and families.
DH: 30 minutes to his station. but when we move in the next year, it will be about 2 hours each way for a 24 hour shift. it's worth it for us/him for living in a city we really want to be in.

Me: WAH, no commute.
DH: he takes either public transit or rides his bike, each takes about 20 min.
30 minutes would be our max commuting time if we had to move.

Both DH and I have about a 15-17 minute commute. We work a block-ish from each other, so it's pretty much the same
pomelo / 5791 posts
15 min - either by car (DH drops me off in the morning), or by train (ride home).
pear / 1503 posts
Me: 50-60 mins on public transit. It could be as little as 30 mins by car, if I were to leave really early, but nominally 45-60 with traffic.
DH: 50 (am) - 70 (pm) mins public transit. 25 mins by car. A couple of weeks ago it took him 4 hrs to get home on the bus. Everyone got let go early because of the snow storm, the city didn't put extra buses on, so there were huge lineups to get on the buses, and then they kept getting stuck in the snow!

Normally:
Me: 5 min walk
DH: 35 min by bus or subway
Currently:
DH: 10 hours each way as he is flying back and forth out of the country mon/fri. Probably will last 3-4 months or more. (Can I get a hug?)
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
Me: 15 min there in no traffic at 5am, ~30 mins home
DH: Works from home

DH and I each have about a 40 min commute, in completely separate directions, although my work is actually closer geographically (but in the city, so traffic). We specifically chose our suburb/neighborhood when we got married so we would be about equivalent distance to our jobs.

I commute about 50 min each way, but with daycare pick up and drop off, it's longer. I think it's about 26 miles.
Dh commutes about 2 miles, but it's on public transport and walking, so it's about 35 minutes, door to door. He walks from our house to the bus, and from Port Authority to his office.

D: 10 minutes driving, 15 riding his bike
Me: 35-40 minutes, but that includes going out of my way to drop off E at school. From home to work is 10 minutes. It's all very light traffic in the city, though...before we moved it was just as long, but mostly on the interstate (on which there was an accident at least once a month...) I was always tense by the end!

me: 15 minutes ( i do daycare drop off)
DH: 30 minutes
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
dh wah. we often joke about his commute, like "ooh i hope there's no traffic today..."
I do most daycare drop off/pick ups, and it's a 20 min walk or about the same amount of time on public transportation (2 buses or 1 bus+subway; there's also 1 bus that we could take more directly, but it's more walking + it's always filled to the brim). then my office is about <5 min walk from daycare

I'm a SAHM, so no commute for me. If there's no traffic, DH's commute is about 20 minutes.

Vanpool here for the win! When I drive by myself, it will take me about 60 minutes.
If I'm not the driver of the vanpool, I drive 20 minutes to our pickup & dropoff spot and hop in the back seat. After all the drop offs, I get to work about 45 minutes after getting in the van.
I'll take 20 minutes of driving time over 60 minutes of driving. It's so nice.
On the way home, it's about the same.
pomelo / 5258 posts
Me: 30-35 minutes at 7am, 40-60 min when I leave at 4:30
DH: Only commutes 2x a week, 20 min each way.
kiwi / 526 posts
Mine is about 30-35 minutes with traffic, which includes time to walk to my car from work (7 minutes usually). It's shorter if I go in during odd hours. I've never had a job where my commute was less than 20 minutes...even during the summers of college, I worked at a bakery that was 30 minutes away (no traffic, a pretty drive through rural countryside).
DH is roughly 25 minutes, he takes all freeway.
