I have never been much of a traveler, so I haven't been to that many places. Bee and I honeymooned in Barcelona though and I really loved the city. So that's probably my favorite city in Europe, although it's at the top of a very short list of cities that I've even been to!

This is going to sound so cliche, but I am madly in love with Paris. Barcelona is a close 2nd... it's close to my heart since I studied abroad there.

Barcelona is my #1 because I studied abroad there and we were engaged there. Prague is probably my #2, but it's close.

Rome or Venice.... but I love Spanish cities too. We married in Alicante and A is getting christened there next month so that's close to my heart

@Mrs. High Heels: It was so fantastic! It was while I was studying abroad during my senior year of college. DH surprised me by being in the little park outside of my school as I was leaving class. Thinking that he would have proposed then if he was going to at all, I had no clue it was coming. Later that evening we went to Palau Nacional (my favorite place to get away) where he proposed overlooking the city. We celebrated by eating terrible pizza and walking around the city all night :). It was awesome.

Probably Paris and Bruges but I haven't been to a ton of cities, we tend to go to smaller towns when we visit. We went to Paris during the winter break so it was a lot more empty than usual. My husband went back for a conference in the summer and said it wasn't quite as nice with all the crowds and I'm not much of a fan of crowds.

I love so many cities in Europe... But my favorites might be a little unconventional. Munich, Nice, Zurich, Florence. I had a lot of fun in those places!

Lucerne, Switzerland! The lion, Lake Lucerne, Mt. Pilatus, the rainy days, it was amazing.
I still need to get Germany off my bucket list though...

Venice! It's such a unique city--water everywhere. Easy transit and to explore. Beautiful and such history! Very romantic.
ETA- Michelangelo's David in Florence was the most amazing thing I've seen in Europe.

So cliche, but Paris! DH proposed under the Eiffel tower and it was the most romantic thing ever... Florence is a close second though!

@lemondrop: my husband and I loved Lucerne too. It's one of the prettiest cities I've been to. It was also the first experience of a European city for me.
My favorite so far is Prague, then Barcelona. Lech, austria also has a special place in my heart because we got engaged on te mountains there.

London - it was my home for three years and no other city will ever compare! Other faves include Barcelona, Dubrovnik, Istanbul, Munich, and Amsterdam. Actually, I could name about 40 other European cities I love just as much but you did only ask for one and I've already given six.
I know everyone loves it but I thought Prague was overrated.

I also love Rome, Florence and Budapest.

London! It's my favorite place I've ever been, hands down. Im in love with the city. Monte Carlo is beautiful too.

Paris. For sure.
Distant second and third would be London and Budapest.
But it also depends on what you are doing...I would pick different places for a romantic getaway or a family vacation.

Athens! I'm Greek and a Classics major so being on the Acropolis totally made me geek out. Add me to the list of those who don't love Paris. Barcelona was awesome though. Reminded me of a European Miami.

@lemondrop: @delight: Awesome. We might take a trip next year and that's high on our list of places to visit. Do you think it'd be fun for a family? We'll have a LO that is just about 3 or just turned 3 and a LO around 7 months old.

@Maysprout: I think it would be about the same as any European city. We did a cruise on Lake Lucerne to Mt. Pilatus, took the cog railway up, walked around for a bit, then took a gondola down, it was awesome!
Just don't get too close to the swans when walking around town, they bite! We had fondue, and walked around the shops, everything was family friendly and more approachable than Zurich to me.
I love that so many people are fans of Lucerne!

I haven't been to too many places, but I absolutely loved Rome! We honeymooned in Venice, Florence and Rome and I thought to myself "I could live here" when we were in Rome

Probably a toss up between London and Rome. I think I would enjoy living in London. Rome is so beautiful and historic. I haven't been to much of Eastern Europe or Scandinavia though. One day.
