I'm a preschool teacher. Regarding my job, people usually fall into two camps and say either: 1) "Oh that should be easy, just babysitting right?!" Or 2) "I could NEVER do that! It takes a special person to teach young kids!"
It is really difficult, but incredibly rewarding! My school is in a rural area and I work with at-risk kids. Many times school/their teacher is the only stable aspect of their day-to-day lives which can be heartbreaking. However, my 18 four year olds bring me such joy and happiness. They are incredibly funny and sweet and even the most challenging kids help me realize that I'm definitely in the right profession for me. So parents/co-workers/behavior issues can be challenging, but the children and their personalities are my favorite part of my job.
