We own.

ETA: We bought our house 2 years ago (and about 6 months before we started TTC). So glad we bought when we did because I have a few co-workers trying to buy now and they are having a really hard time. It's definitely shifted back to a seller's market (at least in our area).

I rent! I read an article similar to that one recently too. I think it's true. Although, many are surprised that my husband and I have never owned a house, and have no plans to anytime soon.

DH lived with his parents until we got married, he was 25. I moved out of my parents house at 19.

Have a mortgage. Wanted to take advantage of a good deal in an exploding area.

We own and bought in our late twenties. I wonder if part of it is that a lot of people are skipping the "starter home" phase and waiting to buy a house that will work with a family. We thought about buying earlier but it would have been a smaller place and we would have wound up moving again when we had toddlers. I am glad we skipped that phase and just moved straight to a potential forever home.

I moved out after college (at 18) and rented until I was 29. Then I bought on my own (3 years before we married).

DH was 38 when we got married and had never owned.

DH had bought a condo before we met. We currently rent it out. We bought a house together a month before R was born.

We own, just bought it at 28. We would have purchased sooner but DH's job involves moving a lot. It had nothing to do with waiting for kids.

ETA- We also plan on renting this out when we move, and buying wherever we move to.

We own. DH bought this house about 2 years before we got married, and we remodeled it about 6 months after the wedding.

We bought our house two years ago, when we were 24. Very, very few of our friends that are the same age as us own a house at this point.

We own, but we were well into our 30's when we bought this house...but we're not considered millenials, we're Gen Xers, lol.

We own. Married and bought our house at 22 (DH was 25). Didn't have first kid until 25 (DH was just shy of 28).

We both lived with our parents until we bought our house though - saved loooots of money by not renting our own apartments during that time!!!

We own. The reason I own at my age is because I married someone older than me. When we started TTC we debating moving from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom apartment or buying a house. I'm so glad we bought because in the 2.5 years since we bought our house the market has gone from a buyer's to a seller's market. Our budget would not go very far today.

@Cole: We also just moved straight into our 'forever' home. Not sure it's actually where we retire, but we're parked there for a good long time!

We are around 30 (I'm a little older than he is) and could have bought a house a few years ago, but we didn't want to buy a "starter" home that we'd have to try to sell later. We're waiting until we can afford something we can see ourselves living in for a long time. Well, that and we want to wait to see where DH's job takes us.

I rented since I was 20, we bought our house last year, so we were 26. I think the hurt housing market worked to our advantage, there are a lot of good deals out there!

We own. We bought our house when we were 26 and 27. I love our house, but we are probably going to outgrow it with a second kid down the line, and our money won't go as far today since it's shifting to a seller's market.
