We now own (33) but it took three years of looking and an ungodly sum of money. I wouldn't say it's our forever home, but we'll be comfortable for at least ten years.

We own. We bought our first house at 21/22. We own our second house right now and we really don't plan on moving until our youngest graduates high school (then again, our youngest hasn't even arrived yet so we'll see how it goes when she gets here).

We own. We chose our home with the intent of making it our forever home. I fell in love with the location, and our house has enough room for us to grow, but it's far from perfect. I kind of wish we remodeled before TTC, because there's still a lot of things I'd like to change.

We own. I have owned my own place since I was 19.
Those starter homes I've had, have made me way more money in the short time I owned them than I could have saved up.

We own. We got married at 23, bought a house that same year. Now 2 years later we are thinking about moving/buying again, and we are TTC!

@Bookish: that kind of situation, where it is outlandish to rent, os one situation where I could see us buying sooner rather than later.

We own. We bought our first house while dating when I was 20 and DH was 24. We moved 2 years ago into our current home and we own it as well.
I definitely think the article is correct. Both my husband and I have siblings in their mid-20s living at home still!

We rent. We won't be house owners for a long time yet because house prices are getting insane here and we're now officially in a housing crisis (overvalued house prices, need 20% deposit and income ratios don't justify buying) Also, rent prices are about to rise which means less saving for a house deposit.

We own a starter home. We bought when we were both 25. Rent in our area is much higher than our mortgage, and I didn't find buying a home to be very stressful. We will sell in 2-3 years, and hopefully build a forever home.

We own. We got married youngish for this generation (26), and had kids right away. Our jobs, family, etc are all around here so it made sense to settle.

We rent the upstairs of my moms house (duplex) so rent & live with family! We're not sure where we want to settle/buy yet.

We rent because DH is a graduate student and we don't plan on living in this area for more than 5 years total. It's really hard to sell condos in this college town and we didn't want to get stuck with a place.
We want to buy when DH graduates/we move, but it depends on where we move to.

We rent, which is ultimately good since we moved around a lot, and didn't settle in a place where we want to put down roots until recently. We're hoping to start looking to buy in the next year.

Not sure if we will ever own, at this time we do not have a desire to.
I haven't lived with family since I was 14 and moved across the country at 17.

We own. Bought 3 years ago when we got married. It is definitely not our forever home and I am always looking for a better suited house.

We are in the beginning of our late 20s (just go with me on that one!) and rent. We won't be buying for a while, probably at least 4 years. I really have no desire to buy until I graduate from grad school and we know where we are going to settle.
We both moved out when we were 18.

We rent (we are in our 30s), but we are expats and probably will never own until we retire! I'm ok with that.
