I think late November/December? I heard on the news this morning that the earliest we've ever had snow was October 17th in 1898! (Kansas)

December. Most of the heavy snows are Jan-Feb. Right when I'm due! Yay!

Probably a scattering in October that will melt. November we'll get a bit. Heavy snow in December.
...man, that was depressing.

I'm close to Michigan in Ontario. We tend to get a lot of snow where I live thanks to our positioning in relation to the Great Lakes. Usually starts in November/December and lasts until March.

Ugh who knows...it can really start as early as October, and lasts usually through March around here. I am hoping we hold off until the end of Nov/first week in December. FX!

There were flurries a couple of years ago but nothing stuck. It's rare to see snow here (Houston)

Depends if it's going to be an open winter or not. Sometimes we have brutal cold (-40 and colder), but no snow- that's just our SW corner of North Dakota though, something with the weather patterns. But generally, if we're gonna have snow, it'll happen in November sometime. I sort of sincerely hope so because I'm due the end of November and I can think of nothing cozier for our home birth than snow on the ground outside and the birth pool next to the woodstove. But not so much snow that the midwife can't get here or we can't get out if we would have to!

October. Usually won't stick till Nov. though. Then it stays till April or May. Depends on the cold as @FarmWifeGina said. The colder it is, the less snow.
(Edited to add I also live in ND but on the other side of the state, northeast.)

January or February and it's done in a day, if we get any at all.

@mrsjyw: we sometimes get snow in october! I remember last year it snowed BIG time on halloween. It was "frankenstorm" though. Hopefully not til nov/dec this year.

October- April.
We got 3" of snow the week Chloe was born!

Not sure - I'm guessing November (new location). My "American" home is Western NY and there it was Halloween - Mother's Day, without fail. But that's ok with me, the novelty of the snow still hasn't worn off!

@Danizaur: I keep thinking about this too. My brother was born in a freak snowstorm (my parents had to borrow a neighbour's car to get to the hospital because they couldn't get theirs out). For our LO it will be less freaky to have a snowstorm in February in New England. And DH will be 3 hours drive from me - eeek!

If we get any, it would probably be in late December through early February. Two years ago we had a "snowstorm" in late January (just a couple inches, but boy did it make a mess of things). Last year, no snow at all.

Only in my dreams.
It's only snowed once here in the last 100 years & it was a couple years before I moved here, and of course the one year we didn't come down to visit family for Christmas. Boo that!

Ehhhh, MAYBE January/February. But that's like flurries. I'm on the coast of NC. School is cancelled if there's even a threat of snow because we don't know what to do with ourselves. The last REAL snow we had (more than like 3-4 inches) was in 1989.

It could snow in October or November, but sometimes we get to December and still no white Christmas. But definitely by January and goes through to March, April if we're unlucky.

Haha, yesterday? We usually get a few snows super early, either late September or early October. It melts and snows and melts again. It will usually stick in late October or early November. It sticks until mid to late March, but there will be a few freak late snows in April or May. In fact, my younger brothers high school graduation had to be moved indoors because of snow (in june!).

@OldEnglandMama: @Danizaur: I'm beyond nervous about a snowstorm when baby is due! Last year, at the same time as my due date, we got 3 FEET!

@mrskc: Sadly, my version of California snow is light hail. I get excited when it hails!

@mrsjyw: about the same as you. In Ontario in the "snow belt" and right on Lake Huron... we get A LOT.

October, probably? Then it's always a possibility until April. I'm due April 9, and I bet there's snow on the ground when I deliver!
Growing up, it snowed WITHOUT FAIL on Halloween during the year where I had a costume that you couldn't easily make warm without "ruining" (ie a ballerina or genie). Years I was a witch and could have fit a snowsuit underneath? Warm as could be. Figures.

Last year we had our first snow fall mid October. But I've seen it beginning of October until mid May.

Usually late November - March. (Nebraska but it's all over the place!)
