@elliebee: nope, not terrible!! I didn't tell my family until almost 10 weeks. For one thing, I wanted to wait until I heard a heartbeat. For another, we all live far away from one another, and I wanted to do it in person. It was *HARD*, but the surprise was soooo worth it. However, if I lived close to fam and saw them all the time there is NO way I could have kept the secret that long!

A few friends knew earlier on-mostly because I couldn't explain away symptoms when they saw me:-).
