When did you have your shower? If you had more than one, when was the first?

I had my baby shower 5 days before my LO was born (scheduled c-section).

baby showers being traditionally so late stress me out; I wanted my shower at like 20 weeks so I could know what I still needed to get.....but of course I had my showers in the normal range (third trimester)

My first one was 26 weeks because I was in my hometown for Christmas and wouldn't be back before baby. My second one is going to be at 37 weeks and that's stressing me out...

I'm really leaning toward earlier. I want to have time to get stuff organized, get thank you notes written, and buy anything we still need before LO arrives and I think a shower at 33 weeks would give me enough time.. I was just curious what the hb norm was

Just had ours this past weekend at 33 weeks! 2 in 2 days and I was sooo exhausted, I slept almost 11 hours after the last one.

35 and I wanted it earlier, but that time of the year was not good... I was due end of Feb/early March, so I was 30 weeks at Christmas which would have been the ideal timing I think but not for guests.

Resurrecting this thread - my shower will be at 34 or 35 weeks and it just seems so late! Did those of you with later showers manage ok?

25 weeks - I wanted it later, but I live out of town (plane ride, not car ride), and happened to already be going there for a trip, so we had one.

@JoJoGirl: 36...ack! So I shouldn't even be having the mini meltdown I'm having....

Mine will be at 34-- hope it's alright! And it's a 4 hour drive away... Come to think of it, I'll need to be doing some registry stalking I guess.
But that's the only way the timing works. DH has a big exam at the beginning of June that I didn't want to do it before, then the next two weekends didn't work. I'm getting tons of hand me downs from my sister anyway, so I'm going to already have a lot of the big baby gear that you need right away-- like carseat!

@Revel: Nah I think it'll be okay. My plan is to go the DAY AFTER the shower to do registry completion and then just get to work washing and putting everything away.

35 weeks. It wasn't too bad, I just made sure I sat down a lot with my feet up since I had a lot of swelling at that point.

First at 32 (I think) but only that early because it was out of town.. Second at 36.

Ya'll are a big help! I was feeling like 34-35 was so late but I guess it's pretty average.

first (family one) was at 29 weeks (had to do it, cousin were in town, it was 4th of July weekend so everyone had days off)
second (friends, college friends, colleagues) was at 34 weeks.
I'd say I had everything bought, exchanged, set-up and ready to go by 37w exactly?
