I'm due on January 8th and my mom was talking about throwing a shower between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I think a winter shower theme would be so cute, but I'm afraid with all the holidays, people won't show up or will be out of town. I also don't want to do it too early. How many months were you when you had your shower?

I am having my shower next weekend when I will be 31 weeks. I think the time in between the holidays may be a little hectic, maybe before Thanksgiving as that's not a gift-giving holiday and might not be as hard on people's wallets? Nothing wrong with having the shower a little earlier!

It's my understanding that about 2 months before baby is due is typical. Enough to be showing but not too uncomfortable. Also it gives you time to set up the nursery, do exchanges, and buy whatever else you need without being in a hurry. I vote two weekends before Thanksgiving just in case people travel the week of. Honestly my schedule is so hectic during the holidays, you want people to look forward to it, not just fit it into their schedule, you know?

Because of timing, I had my shower the week before Christmas, and was around 30 weeks. Luckily, most people knew the circumstances (I was only in town for a few days), so most everyone showed up!

I was 34 weeks I think. I would've preferred it around 32 weeks.

I traveled to my hometown at Christmas and my mom threw me a shower while I was there, I think it was December 27th, and people still came! I was only 25 weeks but wasn't going to be home again before the baby was born.
I had my shower where I lived when I was 37 weeks and that felt a but late. I was pretty uncomfortable at that point, but it still turned out ok!

January 8th is a great birthday! (I'm a little biased, it's my birthday lol) I was due September 23rd & I had my baby shower the last weekend in June...the 28th I think.

I had one at 29 weeks and one at 33 weeks.

I had one at 32 weeks and one at 36 weeks. You could always do it a couple weeks before Thanksgiving!

I was due in August and had my baby shower in June. Ended up being a good thing because I delivered mid-July!

I was due at the end of April and had my shower mid March. Earlier would have been good too. I went to a Christmas themed shower for one of DH's cousins. Decorations and snacks were easy to coordinate and plenty of people came.

I was supposed to have one at 34 weeks. LO decided he wanted to attend though and was born at 34 weeks.

My main shower was at 30 weeks, we had to travel to go to it and I sort of wish we had done it about two weeks earlier- but only because the car is no longer my friend for more than about 30 minutes. We are having two smaller showers around 34 weeks but I would be twitching over not having most stuff ready by the .

I had mine around 31 weeks. I had a good size bump, and I was still feeling good. I'd probably have it before Thanksgiving if I were you.
ETA: I had another smaller shower thrown by a family friend around 36 weeks and I much preferred how I felt and looked at the earlier one!

I'm due 12/8 and right now planning to have my shower early Oct; I just want it a little earlier so I have time to situate all the gifts, buy more things, etc.

I had my first at 30 weeks, having my second this weekend at 35 weeks.
This one is pushing it. I really wish they would have scheduled it for earlier. Right now I'm so uncomfortable and swollen, and grumpy, the last thing I want to do is get dressed up like a show pony. Also, now we only have a month or so to finish getting everything else we need. Earlier the better!

My family threw me a shower about 5-6 weeks before my due date.

Well, I'm flying to the West coast for mine, so I'm going in early September. I'll be about 28 weeks. I already have a little bump going on, so I think it will be a nice size at that point, and I won't be too huge and uncomfortable to travel
I don't think there's any harm in having the shower earlier.

With DS I was 32 weeks. My mom insisted on throwing me a sprinkle for #2 and I will be 36+3. I'm asking for freezer meals only this time. Haha.

34 weeks I believe (in February). If I were you I would try for before Thanksgiving, I think you will be far enough a long it's perfectly fine.

I'm due in January too, and my mom is thinking of having a shower for me in late October to avoid the holidays and a family wedding in November. I'll be about 29 weeks along.
If it wasn't for the wedding, the shower would probably be mid November. -
With my first I was due January 8th and had my shower on October 27th. It involved international travel so any later would have gotten too close to the holidays and my no fly date.
I won't be having a second shower with this one.

Was due early march and had it end of January. I think in between thanksgiving and Xmas is the perfect time for you!

I had mine at 37 weeks. It felt a bit late (I was tired and uncomfortable), but it was fine.
