I didn't have one but I'm planning one for a friend who is due to give birth at the beginning of February. Would early January be too late? Or November too early? I'm guessing most people are busy during December.

We had one at 29 weeks and another at 32? weeks. I was comfortable at both. I think I wouldn't have minded up to 36 weeks. Then things got uncomfortable physically...!

I think November would be fine! That way she'll have enough time to sort out her gifts and figure out what else she needs.
I'm due in December and we're planning the shower for October.

My sister's twins were due in early Feb and we threw the shower mid-November because we wanted to avoid the holiday madness and we did not want to chance early Jan. Good thing we didn't because the twins wers born on Jan 7!
My shower was in late August and I was due early Nov.

My DS was born early Feb and my shower was in between holidays - early December.

5 weeks before I was due and 3 weeks before I gave birth! It was good timing.

I just had mine at 37 weeks! Its a little later than most but it was fine, particularly because I wasn't really counting on the stuff from the shower for our big ticket items, so I had already done most of the nesting. I assume your friend will probably get a fair amount of stuff for Christmas too, so I think it wouldn't be a big deal when it happened. Although I think a Halloween shower sounds super fun!

I'm also due in feb and reeeeaally hoping my friend who wants to throw my baby shower will do it in early december. I think january is too late, just because I want to know what I have by the time Christmas is over and use January to just get the last few things before baby. November would be fine, too, if you're worried about people's availability.

I'm due 2nd week of Dec and having my shower 2nd week of Oct.
