It's been more than 6 years since my last pregnancy and I just can't remember when the cervical checks started.
So, when did you start having the more 'invasive' appointments??

I asked for one at 36 weeks, got the next at 40 weeks just b/c my MW is officed out of town and wanted to see if maybe she should wait around, and then the next when I was in early labor.
Next time I don't think I'll have any until labor.

I think 37 weeks. It was terrible. I refused any for the rest of my pregnancy, and will refuse any in future pregnancies as well.

Mine start at 35! That's 1.5 weeks a way, oooo-ooooh...(actually I'm excited to know if there's progress! but I can see myself being disappointed if there's none)

I won't be having any, at all, during pregnancy or during labor.
I chose not to and my midwives will respect that decision barring a serious need, in which case we would discuss it then.

My OB overview sheets says first one at 36 weeks, nothing at 37 and 38, but checks again at 39 and 40.

I won't be having any, thankfully I didn't even have to request it! My doc just doesn't do them routinely unless there is cause for concern.

Interesting to see such difference responses.
I plan on asking if I remember at my next appt. Granted I'm only 25wk 3days but I'm trying to remember how it all went down in the 3rd trimester.
I am having growth scans starting 28/32/36 weeks and then starting at 32wks I'll have weekly NST and ultrasounds due to my high risk status.
So, I don't know if the internal checks will be any different time wise or not. But, it's all about to get busy real quick.

Mine doesn't start till 38 weeks. Had my first today. It didn't feel good, but it didn't hurt as bad as I expected it to either.

I had one at 35 weeks, didn't have one at 36. My 37-week appointment is this week, we'll see. I also think he just did the 35-week one because I was getting the GBS swab and he was already down there lol.

Mine didn't start until 39 weeks actually! I wasn't progressed at all, but a week later, I gave birth!

My midwives don't do them unless you want them. I don't plan to have any until I'm in labour, and even then I'd like to keep them to a minimum.

36 weeks. I actually was going to refuse them, but after talking with my midwife, we decided that I would have the first one to check the baby's position, at least, since I thought he might have flipped. He was breech, so we didn't do any checks after that since I was going to have a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks.

I had one at 37 weeks, because I was having pre-term contractions for a couple weeks prior. I'm not going to have any more, though, unless I go to 41 weeks.
It was awful, and I'm so glad I don't have to have them weekly.

@aprk: They aren't really necessary, except maybe in the case of preterm contractions to see if you are dilating too soon. Other than that, they are pretty pointless.
