We told my parents on my mom's birthday which was about 2 weeks after we found out at 5 1/2-6 weeks along.

I told them at 5 weeks. We live close and I see them usually about twice a week, so it would be really hard for me to keep it a secret.

@lilteacherbee: that would be hard! we live a few hours away. like 5 days after I found out my mom and her friend came to visit so I fake drank so they wouldn't know! haha

I called my parents the night i got a BFP. They were on a two week vacation.
We told my inlaws a few days later, over dinner.
With my second pregnancy, we were going to wait until we knew for sure and were comfortably in the second trimester. I miscarried, though, and told my parents about the loss. We never told my inlaws.

I called them right after I told DH (I had dropped him back off at work.) They knew about my previous loss, and knew that we were seeing an RE. They were SO excited, DH was sad to have missed their reaction.

I am very interested in this! Subscribing!! My bro and sis-in law hae had 3 kids. We found out right away for first, 8 weeks for second and 3 months for 3 rd!!! It kind of hurt my mom that we didn't find out till 3 months. I see my mom minimum 2 times a week and there is no way I could keep that secret! I have a feeling we will tell at lest my parents and DH parents right away.

11 weeks. They weren't supportive for my first loss, so we didn't tell them until much later. That's what you get!!!

We told them at 13 weeks, after our 12 week ultrasound and the next time we saw them in person. I was able to use the ultrasound picture and frame it and give it to them as a gift to reveal that we were pregnant.

We told our parents around 5 weeks with A but will wait until 9.5 weeks (after my first appt), this time.

Everyone in my family had me figured out thanks to a Christmas Eve where I didn't drink. We didn't officially announce until 13-14 weeks to the families.

@BabyBoecksMom: same!
It's worked out so far both times to tell our parents in person at 7 weeks (providing the ultrasound goes well today). Pretty amazing since we live at a distance from both sets of parents.

#1: I waited about a week to tell my dad. Knowing he and my mom didn't talk made it easier to wait another week to tell her. lol DH told his parents right away (7-8 weeks)
#2: the night we got the BFP (3+ weeks)
#3: as soon as we had a dating scan and we told baby would be okay. (8+ weeks)

I told my mom 3 days after my BFP around 6 weeks. It was awful...she was very disappointed in me but also excited.

The day after our BFP. I will be waiting much longer if we have this kind of news to share a second time.

11 weeks -- I wanted to tell them sooner but my dad was having a couple big surgeries during those first few weeks and it just seemed like too much all at once. They were mildly annoyed that we "held out on them," though in a nice way!

I was like...4 weeks when I told my mom. Right when I found out. My husband told his parents around the same time. My dad lived far away, and I told him when he was in town, around 8-9 weeks.

Last time we told my parents at 5 weeks. We didn't plan on telling his till 12 weeks (she's a blabber)
This time we are waiting to tell both at 12 weeks since the last one ended in MC.

Our plan was to tell them after our first ultrasound at 8 weeks. DH can't keep a secret to save his life though, so we ended up telling my parents and his at 6 weeks

We told them between 5-7 weeks (when we saw them in person for the first time.)

With DS1, we told them the day we found out. DH was deploying two weeks later and we wanted to tell them together. We waited until we heard the heartbeat at 12 weeks for this pregnancy.

I haven't been pregnant yet, but I will wait until at least 10 weeks before telling anyone beside Hellobee and my DH.
coconut / 8681 posts
With Elliot we told them at 4 weeks. With this baby we told them within a week of the BFP so around 5 of 6 weeks.
I had 2 MCs prior to these pregnancies and we needed their help when I went through them. With the first we hadn't even told them that I was pregnant yet. To have to tell them about the loss without even having a chance to celebrate the new life with them was extremely difficult.

Same as @pui. We'll be waiting until the end of the 1st trimester and/or whenever we plan on seeing them in person (hopefully).

I told my mom 2 days after finding out... mainly cuz I wanted to tell her in person but then I couldn't wait so I told her in video chat. I told my dad the same time we told the test of our family, at 11 weeks.

We told them soon after the bfp.
Next kid I'm not telling them until further along. My MIL is a worry wart and I know she'll be fretting my entire pregnancy, so the less weeks she has to stress the better. It's not like I'm not going to be worried...I just don't need her to remind me to be worried.
I'll tell my parents at the same time, just to be fair to my inlaws. DH will probably tell FIL sooner, though. He can't hold anything in, lol

I told my mom at 6 weeks after my dr appt (but accidentally just voted 7 due to preggo brain! GAH!) My dad passed away so I didn't vote for him.
I didn't vote for my in laws but we told MIL at 6 weeks too but told FIL right when we found out because he and DH are very close and we felt good knowing he was praying for us, and knew he'd handle it well if the doctor's appt didn't go as we'd hoped.

I voted twice for the same pregnancy - as soon as I got a BFP and other - because my parents knew we were going through IVF and my mom happened to ask if I had tested the same day I got my BFP. I cannot lie - I start to smile - so she knew right away. But I hadn't planned on telling my parents that night because my DH was at work.

I told my mom a few hours after I got a BFP, my ILs on Christmas (just over 7 weeks) and my dad and stepmom after my U/S at 8 weeks.
pomegranate / 3580 posts
With our last BFP (ended in m/c) we told them the day we found out, but with this one we're waiting until after our first appointment but I'll be 9 weeks and I'm not sure I can hold it in that long!

@Running Elley: we were in the same situation. With pregnancies 1&2, we only got to tell them the bad news. We decided this time we would share some good news. Hopefully we have a sticky babe and don't have to share anymore bad news.

I called my mum straightaway. Lo was a surprise and I was in shock when the test came up positive and since dh was at work and couldn't answer the phone, I rang my mum and cried to her. She managed to calm me down. I'll most likely tell her straightaway after getting pregnant with number 2.

We hold my parents at 5 weeks, a week after getting a BFP, I knew I wanted to tell the ILs later. Next time I think I will wait, having to tell my parents about a mc was harder than I thought, I thought I would want my parents for support, but so far I haven't even wanted to talk to them about it, so next time we will wait....

@autumnlove: why?
We told at 9w only because I was so sick that I couldn't hide it.
I plan to hide it as long as possible with the 2nd. Like ideally? 16-18w.
