My 8 month old is fast outgrowing the fisherprice whale of a tub that we use. I was thinking of getting a bath mat and just letting her sit in the big tub, but then I saw a blog post by Mrs Hide & seek with the bath seat and I wonder if I should get that instead..

6 months, no transition just straight in the tub! But she was sitting competently at 5 months.

We used a bath ring thing as soon as she was sitting. After a year we started with just a mat

Our LO is 8 weeks and we bathe her in the big tub. I get in there with her though since her head control isn't the greatest yet. She loves bath time!

We did a blow up tub from 8-13 months since the big tub takes so much water. Then bath mat plus regular bathtub after that. That was for Charlie... Olive is 14 months and still in the baby tub because she's kinda scared of the big tub!

C has been in the big tub since 8 months. She just sits in there, no special equipment needed. I never take my hands off of her, so I'm not worried.

LO is 7.5 months and still in the baby tub. We'll keep her in there until she starts trying to stand up. I don't want to use the amount of water needed for the big tub on a regular basis.

L is 10 months and we're still using a baby tub. We tried the regular tub a couple weeks ago but she got kinda freaked out.

She went in the big tub as soon as her cord stub fell off. We use a $6 yellow bath sponge from Targert if I'm alone or she gets in the bath with me if my husband is home to help when she's done so I can finish my bath.

LO hated the baby bath. We showered with him until 8 weeks, when I put him in a bath sling in the tub with his brother. He's now 7 months old, and we're ditching the sling now too.

8 months in the whale tub, now she's just in the big girl tub

We used a bath recliner for the first 2 months, then I got lazy setting it up and just lay him down in the big tub while I showered and let him splash around. He didn't start sitting well until about 8 months, then he started sitting up at bath time.

We still use our baby tub at almost 1 year.

@Mrs. Bee: good point about the water. With Lala, we always showered with her. With M, she bathes with her sister so no extra water used.

She's 17 months and still in a mini tub that sits in the big tub. I figure she'll stay in there as long as she's still comfy. It's easier on our backs, and we're not wasting so much water filling up the big tub.
We bought a tub that transitions from an infant tub to a toddler tub.
