In a pool? Ocean? Etc?

LO went swimming in my friend's pool when she was 4.5 months. She had a blast!

We did the ocean first, but it was in a really sheltered spot, sometime around 6 mos. Even small waves can be kind of intimidating for little children, so I think most babies/toddlers are probably better off getting comfortable in a pool. We go 'swimming' at least a few times a week, but even so, LO has gone through periods of not wanting to get in the water. I'm certain that seeing the occasionally rougher chop in the ocean was part of that. He has since come around.

4.5 months. Pool and gulf

Mediterranean ocean, 8 months, pool 12 months.

Pool at 7 months, she is so comfortable in the water.

LO started swim lessons at 5 months old in a pool.

Pool around 6 months. Ocean will be at a year, too cold any sooner.

LO starts swim lessons this weekend at 8 months old.

3 months old in our big soaker bathtub using the swimava ring. We're looking forward to taking her to the pool once it warms up.
