I remember the first time she looked at me when I said her name and that was 5 months.

5 months or so I believe....I know she knows it because any time anyone says it she responds, but I can say other things in a similar tone to her like "excuse me" and she won't turn around, but if I say her name she turns every time.

olive wasn't turning her head at 15 months. not necessarily because she didn't know her name, but because she was just tuning us out. that's when we pursued early intervention.

by 1 they should recognize their name.

I wasn't sure she knew her name until she was around 9 or 10 months, I think. Part of it was that the daycare teachers all called her a special nickname that we don't use at home. She responded to that name earlier!

I'm pretty sure that my 8.5 month also does not know his name.
