DD is 21 months and has not said her own name. It's four syllables so it might be hard for her to pronounce but she hasn't even tried. When did your LO start saying their own name?

She tries, but she doesn't say it correctly. She calls herself DeeDee (Vivi).

She can say it now at 19M.
I will add it is her version of her name but you can tell that is what she is trying to say.

She started saying her nickname around 15 months. She is 17 months and she can't say her full first name.

Xander (19 months) can't say his name at all. He's attempted to once after much coaxing, but for the most part, doesn't even try.

She didn't have a lot of words until 19 months and I think she started saying her nickname last month at 20 months. She cannot say her whole name.

Around 21 months - but maybe before? She was saying a word that we couldn't figure out, but then maybe thought was her name? She says it now for sure at 22 months (although it's still mispronounced).

i think around 18 months he would use his nickname (just a shortened version of his already short name), occasionally. now, at 25 months, he switches between his nickname, the full version, and "i".

I think it was probably around 17 months. She can't say c or k sounds...they just sound like t, so her name sound like taire. People wouldn't be able to recognize what she is saying unless they know it already.

She started saying it around 19 months, but I don't know that she really knows what she's saying. When we play peek-a-boo we say 'Where's Lyla?!' - when she tries to play but we aren't paying attention she'll say 'Lyyylaaa!' Super adorable though

Maybe around 15/16 months? He started out saying "Lyolyo" (his name is Leo), and now at 23 months he has consistently called himself "Lodee" for like 4 or 5 months. I LOVE IT and want him to call himself Lodee forever and ever.

i honestly can't remember for olive. i think with charlie it was around 18 months.

I can't remember! But I know at first he could say Ls at the beginning of words, so he said wee-um. Now he says it right at 2.5.

She is 28 months and just recently started trying but it comes out more like "we-yan" than Lillian lol...

She tries now at 2 years but it has taken a while. Her name isn't easy for a toddler to say. I'm afraid she's going to start calling herself Meggie because that's what her daycare teacher calls her (vomit).

Probably around 18 months. It's definitely not the correct pronunciation, but he's clearly trying to say his name.

Around 15 months. She calls herself Diddy which was coined by Travelgirl's DD. Her nickname is Livy. Diddy is close enough for me.
nectarine / 2994 posts
Around 22 months. Her name is Eleanor and she says Elle-nor which is pretty close!

Around 17/18 months. He would point to himself and say "oui" (like they last syllable in his name) it was sooo cute.

12/13 months. She was a very early talker though. When she was 22 months, her little sister was born, and she said her name, "Adrienne" too!

Close to 2 years old for our guy. We would ask and ask. He knew it, but wouldn't say it. Now, it's one of his favorite things to say as well as show us that he's 2 years old.

Probably 20/21 months old. He calls himself "peace" for Pierce. I'll be sad when he says it correctly.

She started to try around 12 months and it was "popo" then (which we still call her) but she was an early talker, too. From Popo it was penepe and then this week at 29 months she finally said Penelope all the way.

Right around 2, but she calls herself Emmy (can't say Emily) or Emmy Boo (we call her Boo a lot).
She started saying her little sister's name much earlier than she said her name, but alas, Charlotte is a hard name to say and I'm afraid she is forever going to be known as Shart. It's become so ingrained that I even call her Shart on occasion! Poor child...

For DS, not until he was past 2(he's 2.5 now).
DD is definitely talking earlier than her brother did. She's 14.5 months and I'm trying to get her to say her name...but to be fair, her name can be a little difficult to say(Aurora), so we are trying her nickname(Rory)
grapefruit / 4085 posts
She's 22 months and tries but her name is 4 syllables and sort of difficult for her to pronounce - she can get about 3 semi-intelligible syllables! She likes to say her aunt's name though, which is Kristen and comes out "tin-tin"

A few months ago he started saying it. He's 22 months now

I can't remember!!! I know she started fairly early. We were surprised because it is a tough name to say.
persimmon / 1328 posts
I'd say she started trying to say it around 16 months, but her pronunciation is a little off. She calls herself Yaya.
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
She refuses to try (2 this month). She can say everyone else's name in the family but when I ask her to say her own she gets shy and turns away. She's done this for as long as she has been talking. It doesnt seem to be a hard one (Charlie) but I get the same reaction each time.
