I know every pregnancy is different, but I just need some hope for when I might start feeling better.

In the early part of the 2nd trimester thats when my nausea started fading away. For me it peaked around week 9-11 and then got better by week 15 to 17

Unfortunately about 17-18w was when the horribleness stopped. At about 21w is when the light, general yuckiness stopped and I got a *normal* appetite back.
I thought it would never end and had a terrible attitude but truuuust me: it'll get better.

@TurtleDoves: That is NOT what I wanted to hear. :(. Hopefully, I'll be like @highwire:!

It slowed a lot during weeks 11 and 12 and now at 14 I *think* it's gone.

@Mrs. Blue: I can't remember, but have you tried the Unisom + B6 combination?

slowed down in week10/11... def felt better after week 12
grapefruit / 4669 posts
Starting at 10 weeks it got way worse (I started taking Zofran instead of Unisom + B6), but now that I will be 12 weeks tomorrow, it MAY be lessening. Meaning I still feel nauseous, but I feel like there's a light at the end of the tunnel now. And I don't walk around the house with a trash can anymore. Do you think your prenatal could be causing some of it? Occasionally I skip it when I'm feeling really awful.
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@tororojo: I take my prenatal at night right before I go to bed. I skipped it once because I has just thrown up and didn't think I could handle it.
I should add that I actually have an rx for Zofran that I take on days like today when I'm going to be in court all day. But i for e myself to not take it on weekends and "regular" work days. It helps in that I don't feel as much like I'm going to vomit immediately, but it doesn't cut through the queasiness. I think I'll try Unisom + B6 and see if that helps.

I've also heard from my doctor that ginger tea can help. Hope it lets up soon!

Both times around 10 weeks it got a lot better, not totally gone for a few more but I could start eating a lot more again.

slowed down at 12 weeks and was gone by around 14 weeks. It was so amazing when it finally started to go away! Hope you start feeling better soon.

Mine stopped early, around 9.5 weeks. No tapering off gradually either, I woke up and felt like a new woman!
grapefruit / 4669 posts
@Mrs. Blue: One good thing about Unisom + B6 is it helped me fall asleep and stay asleep for most of the night (so I wouldn't wake up nauseous, having to munch on Cheerios at 3 am) and I think some of the effects lingered for the next day...I hope it makes you feel better!

@tororojo What time are you taking the unisom +b6 combo? After a meal and before you go to bed?

It started getting better at 11 weeks, but it wasn't until about 16 weeks that I could eat all my favorite foods again and didn't feel sick at all. Hope you feel better soon!

I started feeling a little better around 13 weeks, but was still throwing up daily until 15 weeks. I felt great though after that! Hang in there!

I got a delayed case. Started feeling sick around 7w; nausea/vomiting peaked around 16w; and the sickness started going away around 18w. Finally felt normal around 21w. Now there are only scattered mornings where I feel the vomit wave rise and fall.
My morning sickness pattern followed my mom's. Have you asked your mom what her experience was like?

Weeks 7-14 were pretty tough. I felt okay until the third trimester (37 weeks tomorrow!) and it hits me occasionally now (and has since about week 30).

14 weeks for me. I had a lull from 10-11 weeks where I was feeling much better but then it came back again for 3 more weeks =/
pomegranate / 3452 posts
I still have some food aversions and weird cravings, but the past two days (at 8 weeks) I am not feeling as generally awful and nauseated. I think it will come in waves for a few more weeks. I'm finding that every day is an adventure.

The actual vomiting stopped at 18-19 weeks for me. So glad to be over that!

When Sawyer was born. I was still on diclectin and occasional Zofran until the day he was born.

@savanarunner: I've been trying to stagger my pill taking, so usually I take a vitamin pretty soon after dinner (6-7ish), then unisom+b6 about an hour before bed (8-9ish, plus then I'm sleepy by the time I lay down), then I have to take a progesterone pill right before bed. You could take the unisom+b6 right before bed if you want, but if you're having trouble falling asleep you may want to try it a little earlier.

You don't want to hear this probably but... the day after I had my son was when my morning (and afternoon and evening) sickness went away. haha.

It wasn't until 16 or 17 weeks for me (with the help of Zofran.)

When I had my babies. I'm super lucky ( that's one reason why I only want two!)
Chances are low that you will be like me!

I got lucky and only had it until I was 9 weeks. I never got sick but was very nauseated and food made me very gaggy.

I hate to say this, but it was 22 weeks. I wasn't throwing up though, just super nauseous.
