I know both the options probably aren't ideal but its what we have to work with - which would you pick?

I would say Christmas because that was our second option. We are going during the summer.

I've been to DL several times over thanksgiving week and it has been DEAD each time. I will never go again Christmas week (especially just after Christmas) because every time I've gone it has been INSANE. Like park full by 10am, rides shut down by fire marshal for overcrowding, totally can't move anywhere level insane. I know WDW is bigger than DL so maybe less crowding issues, but personally, I stay away around Christmas.

I've been in WDW in early March (10+ times - my favourite time to go), late April, late August and Christmas and will NEVER GO AGAIN the week of Christmas. It was a mad house. I'm not sure about Thanksgiving but I can pretty confidently say I would go any week over Christmas.

If you are going for a decent period of time (like a week), I'd choose Thanksgiving. I get the sense that the entire week of Christmas is insane (due to all the long school vacations) but for Thanksgiving, it's really only the Thurs to Sun dates.

Ive done both and found them pretty close to the same.

I went a few days before Xmas this past year. Don't do it unless 2-hour lines are your idea of a good time.
