For LO my first doctors appointment was at 10 weeks & this time we will be using the same doctor, so I am assuming it will be 10 weeks again....I am calling tomorrow to make the appointment! I see so many moms who go in at 6 weeks or 8 weeks, & am just curious when you went in & if you knew why it varies so much?

@sulli301: My first was at 6 weeks 5 days. Second is scheduled for May 4! I'll be around 7 weeks.

I actually went in for blood work as soon as I got my BFP because of a prior miscarriage. We tracked my hcg for a week to make sure it was doing what it was supposed to. I then met with the nurse practitioner at 5 weeks to do medical history, blood work, urine testing, and to go over do's and don'ts. My first ultrasound and meeting with the OB is tomorrow at 8w1d.

@sulli301: My OB likes seeing patients between week 7-9 so he can do the ultrasound and see the heartbeat. Not sure why it varies either!

@sulli301: Yeah. My last period was 3/2 so they actually wanted to see me on Tuesday! I know I didn't O until 3/30-4/1 so I told them they needed to see me later. Didn't want to have an u/s and not see the heartbeat!

My first was one day shy of 8 weeks. My doctor usually likes to see his OB patients for the first time around 7-8 weeks.

@chopsuey119: Oh wow! Good for you!! I wouldn't want to have the u/s & unable to see the heartbeat either!! My LMP was St. Patty's day, so I am calling tomorrow so that I am 3 or 4 days late & they don't tell me to call back or anything!! My friend called the day she got her BFP a few months ago & they actually made her wait until the end of the week! Drove her nuts lol

I met with the nurse around 5 weeks, but my first appointment with the doctor was just over 9 weeks.

First midwife appointment is just after 8 weeks. I'm also having SOME care done at a hospital (not much, as hospitals freak me out - almost entirely for ultrasounds.) Being seen at the hospital at 10 weeks, though they wanted me to come in a bit early for NT tests et al, but as I have no interest in said tests, they're good with me coming in a little later than usual.

I don't even remember. They have you go in right away to get an orientation and blood test. But the first real apt. wasn't for a while.

@sulli301: I'm sure they can get you in around 8 weeks. Just let them know that you're feeling particularly anxious and would like some reassuring.

I met my OB for the first time at 6 weeks and then had my first ultrasound at the hospital at 7 weeks.

My first appointment was a 6 weeks to check for viability because of a previous ectopic pregnancy. The 2nd one was at 8 weeks for heartbeat. And then 12 weeks. And then 16 weeks for NT scan.

I was 4 weeks which isn't normal for my OB. But because of my previous losses he said I could come in as soon as I found out. I then had a dating U/S at 7 weeks because my cycles were longer.

6 weeks 5 days. And that was only because my doctor thought I would be 8 weeks based on my LMP.

At 6 weeks, I wasn't sure when I ovulated since I was on bcp. The OB was over cautious and had me get u/s following the blood tests since she thought my hcg levels were higher than she would expect, which made me anxious! The on-call OB calmed my fears and everything was fine. I saw the nurse at 8wk, OB at 12, etc.

Wow, that's late. My first with my Los was the day after discharge... Day 5... Then had another one the next week and the next. Got another in 2 weeks....
Or r we talking bout obgyn? Got mine exactly 1 month after birth.

I'm pretty sure I was 7w5d when I had my first appointment and internal ultrasound. We got to see and hear the heartbeat and the little bean.

ETA maybe you don't mean that actually, lol. Anyway, I went at 8 weeks 4 days bc my doctor wanted to see my between 8 and 10 weeks, so I scheduled it as close to 8 as possible so I didn't have to wait.

At my Dr they like you to come in at 9 weeks so they can pick up the heartbeat...

I got my BFP week 4, saw the NP at week 5, saw the DR and had a transvag u/s at 6w2d! My next appt is next week, I'll be 10w2d.

We started pretty early because we have to choose our care provider, as this is our first.
I had my first interview with a group of midwives at 7 weeks. My husband and I will go in for an official first visit in the beginning of May, around 9 weeks (which is when they submit paperwork to insurance to check for coverage). Presuming we're both on board with them, complete care begins at 12 weeks.
Hospital/OB involvement will be minimal. We may have an ultrasound or two done, and some blood work if anything comes up.

8 weeks, so that the heartbeat would be visible via u/s.

10 weeks is standard for my OB/GYN practice unless you may be high risk or for certain medical conditions (I know a women with diabetes was being seen around 6 weeks).
I know your excited but try not to stress and worry. The day wi come soon enough and in the meantime chase that toddler around
(so sad not to say baby).

I went at 6w+ because I had it "confirmed" by urine test at my PCP, got a referral, and was scheduled at my OB's office. They did an ultrasound to date it and the pap and took a bunch of blood and also a urine test. Then my next appointment wasn't until 11w+.

@sulli301: haha thanks! I will and I think I may continue until we have another baby lol. "The toddler" just doesn't have the same ring for everyday use.

@sulli301: We did fertility treatments, so my first ultrasound and appointment was at 5 weeks. Second was at 8 weeks and then I was released to an OB who wanted to see me at 9 weeks. I went back to the OB at 12 weeks, then had regular appointments from there on out.

At my practice, you see the midwife at 8 weeks and have a full exam, history, and blood work. Then you see the OB at 10 weeks for an ultrasound.
I also had an early ultrasound at 6.5 weeks due to a prior loss (I was so, so nervous so they offered me one).
I am going to see if I can go in @ 8 weeks instead of 10...I am feeling so impatient!
