Just wondering if your first child was brought to the hospital to meet his/her new sibling and what their reaction was.

Yes, but I didn't get to see her. I had some postpartum complications and I was transferred to a no visitor emergency room for a few hours.

I don't have a LO #2 yet but I know my big brother was brought to the hospital to visit when I was born.

Yes, DS came into the delivery room after everything was done (nothing scary). He visited twice while we were at the hospital. The first thing he said was, "you can run around with me now!!!" since I couldn't chase him when I was 30+ weeks pregnant lol. Otherwise, he didn't really get the concept that we were going to be keeping the new baby.

Yep! Deere Boy was 26 months when Tractor Girl was born and he really didn't grasp the concept of having a new baby while I was pregnant, but when he came into the hospital room and saw me holding her the evening after she was born, he burst into the biggest grin and was soooooo excited. Waaaaaah! Just thinking about it now makes me all preggo lady teary-eyed.

Yes my parents brought DD when DS was born.. She was exactly three and really didnt express that much interest in him and just wanted to sit in my lap. And she was happy with her new toy

Yep. DD came to visit. She pretty much ignored the baby for an hour or so then decided to check him out. He was under a bilirubin light so she just watched him sleep.
She was 21 months old.

Charlie came to the hotel room I was staying at instead of visiting Olive since she was in the warmer and under the uv lights. He didn't meet her until we first brought her home!

My plan is to have her come to the hospital.... But we brought her to meet her baby cousin and she screamed. She's very jealous of babies. I didn't even try to hold the baby! So I obviously wont get my hopes up that it will go well.

I'm planning on LO coming to visit the baby at the hospital. We went to visit my niece when he was 28 months old, and he wanted nothing to do with her. He was also very jealous when I tried to hold her. Now he loves her to pieces and treats her so well. Hopefully he will react better to his little brother.

Yep he did.... he was a tad disappointed she was a she & not a he but he quickly got over it & was really happy! The plan was to let him be there for the birth if he wanted to.... then we transferred.
This next time I'm sure both the kiddos will be here again.

Yes, my son came in right after she was born, he was 9 at the time. My step-daughters didn't come. Both will be there this time too, not sure about the girls though, depends on their Mother, and I'm not open to her coming
