When you left the hospital, did you take advantage of the wheelchair they offer you? Or did you walk out?

I believe at our hospital you must be wheeled out. I didn't mind one bit! I was so sore.

I don't think I was offered a wheelchair. I was so ready to leave I practically ran out.

They require you to be wheeled out, and I was glad to do it. My lady parts were so sore!

They didn't offer me a wheelchair, just had my husband carry the car seat and offered to carry things.

I walked myself out... and the baby (in the car seat). I can't remember if I was offered a wheelchair.

Didn't have a choice! I said I could walk and they said it was hospital policy.

I didn't have the option as I went to guest status since my ds was in the hospital an additional week but as a postpartum nurse, we don't offer wheelchairs when sending moms home.

I walked right out; I was a c-section patient who had been there quite awhile though.

No choice, required to be wheeled to the hospital entrance. From there, I walked (a few feet) to the waiting car. My dad carried LO in her car seat, and I've never seen him beam so much or look so proud!!

With DD is was a mandatory rule. 2 years later with DS that finally had gotten rid of the rule ( they ask for feedback and we were told it was the #1 complaint) so I got to walk.

Nope. I walked out the first time. When we brought L home, I also walked out with him in his bucket seat.

I wasn't offered. I didn't even want one walking in! Ouch. I walked myself, it hurt to sit down in active labor. People throughout the hospital as I walked were like, "IS SHE OK?!" Dh was just calmly like, "she's in labor."

Yeah. I didn't have a choice. but I was in quite a bit of pain and bleeding so I would've wanted it anyway.

Requirement for me, too!. I thought it was awkward, because I felt totally fine and wanted to walk.

It was required that I ride in a wheelchair and hold the car seat in my lap.

It was a requirement here as well. I definitely needed it though, I was so sore I could hardly walk. And this was 2 full days after having him!

I'm not sure if it was a requirement but like @Mae: , they said get in, so I got in. I didn't think much of it...

It was required but I wanted it anyway. I had a c section and was in quite a bit of pain.

We didn't have a choice, hospital policy. And the baby had to be in the carseat on my lap (while D pulled the car around).

I honestly can't remind, but I know one nurse walked out with us, so maybe I walked?

I wasn't offered a wheel chair. We were given a cart to carry all our stuff out though.

It was required with #1 and #3, but not #2- I definitely could have walked out this last time.

Not offered one and I could barely move. Longest walk ever. Our shitty hospital probably doesn't even have wheel chairs!!

It was a requirement at our hospital as well, and I also had a C-section. So I certainly didn't mind it!

Yes, I had no choice. It was a requirement at mine too.
ETA: On the way in, when I was in labor, they said they would get me a chair but there was no way I was waiting for that and then going to sit down, while having contractions. I was in PAIN! So I walked myself up to the elevator.
