Not only did I have to ride on one when I was discharged, but when the twins got out of the NICU, hospital policy required that whoever carried them had to be wheeled out as well. Because there were two of them, that meant that DH had to sit in a wheel chair holding one of the carseats while a little bitty nurse wheeled him through the delivery wing. It. Was. Awesome.

Required, but only because he wasn't in a car seat. Normally, you have to take the baby out of the hospital in the car seat. We had a convertible only, so I was allowed to carry him, but only in the wheelchair.

Not with my first and second, but the hospital required it with my third.

On the way out the wheel chair was required. on the way in I was technically supposed to be in a wheel chair but I made a few threats and they let me walk in.

Wasn't offered one either time, and walked out carrying my baby in her car seat both times, the day after giving birth!

It was required at my hospital. I got pushed in the wheelchair holding the baby in my arms, while DH got to push the cart of stuff. (I had the better end of that deal )
