How did you keep up with vagina maintenance?
At 32 weeks, the memory of how my vagina looks is a distant one. Luckily, I can still reach everything. For now, I sort of just shave blindly and hope for the best. I know I'm missing entire patches here and there but it's better than nothing! I'm curious as to how I will keep up with things over the next 8 weeks when it becomes more difficult to reach.

I haven't quite gotten to the shaving blindly part yet. I can still kinda shift my belly around to see parts of what's going on down there. However, I voted shave blindly because that is what I will end up doing eventually in the next couple weeks! yikes! Either that or I may just give up. haha

I've been ignoring it for the last few weeks... lol. I think this weekend I'm going to attempt the shave with a mirror thing.

I don't do it every day or anything, but generally I've been using a mirror to trim. I have one of those electric (well, mine is battery) wet/dry personal groomers. I like it way more than shaving because I don't get ingrowns.
My actual positioning is to sit backwards on the toilet with a mirror in one hand and the shaver in the other--lol. That way, all the mess can just be flushed.

With DS1 I blindly shaved....and did a terrible job. My first shower after he was born (in the hospital) I looked down there in the mirror and was so embarrassed my OB saw it like that. LOL. With DS2 I just left it alone and I'd lightly take a razor over it every now and then just to thin it down some.

I gave up until close to the end when I managed to go blind just one time, about a week before I went into labor. Everything else seemed like too much work and it wasn't like I was interested in any play time at that point anyways!!

I have a wet/dry trimmer like @Anagram: because if I shaved I'd get awful ingrowns. When my belly gets too big I'll have DH trim it, he does a good job :).

I've been waxing so far because I bought a package before I was pregnant, but once I finish that, I think I'll use the electric trimmer-- less likely to hurt myself than with a razor and less chance of ingrowns. I guess I'll need a razor if any swimsuit occasions come up though, in which case I'll use the mirror too.
I was just have a conversation with DH this morning about how I can't see my 'hoo-hah' anymore (and yeah, we are 12 year old boys calling it that).

I'm still able to shave without having to go completely blind. In the month or two leading up to my due date I am planning to get waxed.

I haven't been there yet, but I'm pretty sure I will be in the giving up category, haha. I'm just too afraid of accidentally cutting myself down there, ouch!! I especially wouldn't want to have to give birth soon after cutting myself, that makes me cringe just thinking about it!

I use the Veet hair removal cream so I just slap it on in a haphazard fashion and hope for the best!!

I totally let it go. I usually trim & shave the bikini area. I think I trimmed everything about 3 or 4 days postpartum and it felt so much better. I was absurdly excited to be able to do that again!

I was always able to peek around my belly or lift it up so I could shave. It never really got too pokey outey (I swear my belly grew wide and not out). It was always kinda blind in some spots but for the most part i kept up the maintenance very nicely. Heck no was I about to deliver with a hairy vag!!!
And dh and I dtd every day for the most part during pregnancy and I dis not want him to have to look at a bush!!!

I shaved and hoped for the best! I was so glad I did, too, because I felt like it made it easier to keep everything clean pp. But I also had extra motivation because I was pg during one of the hottest summers ever (LO arrived early September last year), and it helped to reduce the feeling of swamp crotch!

I gave up after I couldn't see it anymore. I figured that the doctors were used to seeing it during labor & delivery. I waited until after a few weeks postpartum to clean it up.

I shaved blindly until I finally decided I didn't care anymore. I went to the hospital with a giant bush. I even said (with my MIL in the room!) "Don't mind my 80's bush, I can't see my Britney anymore!" That was obviously post-epidural.

@babyjmama: lmao! i felt like i was on something with my epi too. i think it was just such a relief to feel normal after those contractions that I didn't care. I kept apologizing for my dragon breath and demanded DH dig out my altoids!
yeah, I used the shick trimmer or whatever it is, but definitely didn't care all that much. the doctors and nurses have seen worse, they aren't concerned with hair. haha.

I voted other:
I had laser hair removal at 19years old so id never have to worry about hair again! I did it everywhere but my knees down (was $$ and I figured the legs are so easy to shave so why spend $$ laser them?)
But, I'd probably try to shave kindly or get a wax if I hadn't done the permanent removal. I basically had to blindly shave my legs because at some point I could lift them to shave them properly.

about 6 six before my due day i made dh trim it up a bit...he was so traumatized by that he refused to do again, so i went au natural after. i'm 8 months pp and i have to admit that maintenance down there is the last thing on my mind lately. i'm too tired keeping up with my busy lo to keep to bother. sorry if that's tmi!

I blindly shaved a time or two, it was bad. I went about 37 weeks and got a wax, well worth it!

@sorrycharlie: I didn't speak a PEEP before it, I'm not kidding. DH had to speak for me. After? I was talking cookie recipes with my anesthesiologist. To the point where he brought us fresh baked cookies the next day LOL!
@TurtleDoves: OH yes, yes I did. If it's inappropriate and ridiculous, I probably have said it at some point in my life. When the nurse came in to ask how I was a few hours after delivery I said "Welp, considering I just had a freight train scream through my vagina, I'm doing alright."
