@MarieJ: my LO also loves to do makeup ("meemac" in her words) at my vanity! I have one from IKEA that is barely holding together but it just feels like the biggest luxury to be able to sit down and also have a place to leave things (vs having to put everything in a drawer or have it take over the bathroom). I often do it while still dark in the room but I have a good makeup mirror (at least I don't think it's ever led me astray on blending or colors)

Wow I didn't know there were so many places!
I must admit I normally do my make up in the bathroom but sometimes I end up doing some last minute make up in the car to somewhere I didn't expect to be going (aka emergency make up go!).

@looch: Electric toothbrushes/shavers etc here are battery operated. Some come with a charger unit that you plug in in another room. We also don't have regular light switches in bathrooms - they are all pull cord (or the switch is outside the room). It might be because our electricity runs at 240v whereas the US is on 110v?? It makes no sense though because we have plug sockets in the kitchen, where there's water!!

One of my favorite things about our house is that it has a built in vanity in the bathroom. It feels very luxurious. But I don't get natural light because it's dark out when I get ready. So I use a lighted mirror that has a daylight setting.
