We have had a mantle/fireplace in our past couple of apartments, but don't have one in this one. I definitely want to get a tree and deck the apartment out... but where do you put the stockings?

We always just tack them on the wall

I have a stocking holder. You put them on a shelf and hang stockings from them. We have 2 fireplaces, but no mantles.

We don't have a fireplace/mantle either. I think I'll hang somewhere in the entryway.

We always use our stair case railings. However, in a previous condo, we hung them on the tree when they were empty and then once they were filled just set them under the tree

We have radiator heat with shelving on top of them, so we do like @Andrea: and use stocking holders. Any shelf would work.

We hang under the bar counter with some felted wool ball garlands. They look cute there!

We have a fire place with no mantle so we do like @fussygal: and use nails just above the fireplace. When I did have a mantle the stockings were too heavy for the my holders

When we lived in an apartment we hung them on the bar that separated the kitchen and living room. We didn't have any bar stools there because there wasn't much counter space.

I hang mine on my sofa table using stocking holders.

At my parents' house growing up, we used to have them on the end of our beds (our parents must have been total ninjas) and currently we just have them under the tree. We've always gone for the Santa sack as opposed to the stocking so it didn't feel too weird them not being hung.
it looks weird, lol.
