When we visit family we always stay at DH's grandma's farm house! It's a HUUUUGGEE house, with.....5-6 bedrooms and it's only DH's grandma and grandpa living there. They loooove having people stay with them.

Depends. When we visit my Dad, we stay with him and his GF. I don't visit my mom or in-laws long enough to *stay.* My Mom because we don't get along and my in-laws because their house is so smoke-filled that I can't breathe when we sleep there Luckily in-laws and Mom are within 2 hours from us, so day trips aren't too hard to do!

They only live like two hours away but we stay the night now since it's hard to go there for just the day with LO. We stay at my MIL's house in DH's old bedroom.

If and when I visit the inlaws again, I will stay in a hotel. And my parents just live behind me so that isn't a problem. I really am a fan of hotels!

DH is allergic to my parents' dog and they have wall to wall carpeting and fabric couches that the dog is on all the time, so we can't stay there. So we stay at a hotel near them, though my sister is buying a house near there soon and will have a guest room just for us
We've stayed at his mom's condo when we visited-- she had us sleep in her room and she took an air mattress in the office, which was nice but really she didn't have to! Not sure what we will do when we have LO.

We always stay at a hotel. The only parent or family member to offer their home for us to stay was my dad. I am actually a bit peeveed about that since it costs so much to visit DH's family.

With them, particularly with DH's family. If we ever visit my dad and stepmom we'll probably get a hotel because my stepmom smokes in the house. And because I can only tolerate them for very tiny periods of time and the live in the middle of nowhere and I would go nuts if I was stuck there.

At the inlaws. If we don't pay for lodging it makes it easier to see them more often. If we are visiting my extended family for a wedding or something, then we stay in a hotel.

When we visit my family, we stay with my grandparents. On the rare occasion that we visit FIL, we stay with him and SIL. We don't visit MIL.

We always stay with family. I'm not sure if other Korean bees feel this way but staying in a hotel would be indirectly insulting family. On the other hand, family always stays with us when they visit but I wouldn't be insulted if my in-laws wanted to stay in a hotel!

We stay with my parents. They have a vacation rental upstairs in their house so usually we get our own space which is awesome. If it's rented out at the time we stay downstairs with my parents in their spare room.

@betsyboop: I'm not Korean, but I feel that way too. Staying in a hotel would really insult my parents, and the in-laws!

Our parents live local so we don't visit them..... but when visiting cousins and aunts and uncles we usually stay at their houses. When visiting my sister we rented an apt. because her house is to small.
