I think it's funny that DS and DD's names are only 10 ranking spaces apart for 2012...and in the 300's--so not like even top 50 names.
where do your LO(s) rank? http://ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/#ht=2

In the 130s. It was in the top ten in the late 1800s though!

We wanted out of the top 20, and in Canada it's quite a bit lower so good enough.

Sophie (LO's name) is 52 (: But Sophia is number 1
I had the top baby girl name and I turned out fine (:

#6. Name popularity wasn't a factor for me. I grew up with the #2 most popular name for the year I was born and it never bothered me any, so I didn't care that the name I absolutely loved for DD was in the top ten. If baby #2 is a girl, my top pick for a name is #4 whilst DH's preference is #19.
For a boy, we're slightly less popular with #73, unranked, and #14 in that order for our name preferences. Surprisingly, the unranked name on our list is in the top 20 here in Australia. Interesting it hasn't made the top 1000 in the US!

@hellocupcake: my LO is Sophie too. Funny how Sophie is so much further down the list than Sophia.

@illumina: I know, right? I do feel a little bad because of the how often people have to clarify her name. Is it Sophie or Sophia?! Ummm I said Sophie! (: haha

Her first name has not been in the top 1000 for the last 100 years. Her middle name is #1. Name popularity wasn't a factor for us.

For LO 1, it was in the 700s over a decade ago. She has an "old lady name"
For LO 2, it's been in the 200s.
I do like that they're names aren't popular, yet aren't too bizarre either.
