Which gifts come from Santa?

Santa gives the unwrapped gifts and stockings. Last year it was a tent DH made plus a small toy each. This year is a train table plus some new trains and tracks. I can understand the reason behind Santa bringing smaller gifts. Maybe we'll start doing that next year but DS already asked Santa for the table so we'll just go with it this year.

We do stockings and one or two smaller gifts from Santa. This year he is just doing the stocking and some books.

I think this year everything is coming from Santa...he's just barely starting to grasp the concept of Santa, and I completely spaced out on considering special wrapping paper until after everything was wrapped, and I'm not un- and re-wrapping. I like the "want/need/wear/read" + maybe the stocking being from Santa, though.

These responses are so interesting because everyone has a different strategy. I never even considered not wrapping Santa presents (because my parents always wrapped ours).

I am liking the idea of Santa doing the stocking, or want/need/wear/read. Also love the special wrapping ideas!

Growing up I always knew who which gift was from, and my mum told me that after they were bought, she sent them all to Santa to wrap and deliver. I guess I will probably do the same.

Hmmm well this wasn't really the question, but none of his gifts will be from Santa. It never even occurred to me, I guess because my parents didn't do "from Santa" gifts.

@runnerd: So do you "do Santa" and just don't say any gifts are from him, or none of the gifts are from Santa at all?

@catlady: We don't wrap because they are usually big shiny stuff. Think the classic red tricycle under the tree with just a big bow on it. That's what we are doing with LO's kitchen this year.

Santa brings the larger items (usually 2), and they are unwrapped because Santa doesn't have time to wrap presents! (That's what my mom always said, haha).

@catlady: Santa brings the most exciting, most magical, or biggest gifts in my world.
Because he's Santa after all! He has to one up Mommy and Daddy .

We give the coolest gifts and Santa gives the rest. This year, that's mostly cause D was with me when I bought M's big gift, which means it comes from us and I want to give D an equally good gift from us.

@sslm: same! We do the things that are too hard to wrap and/or she might not be excited about unless she sees them put together. This year Santa is doing her table and chairs, a slide, and some smaller items like coloring books.

@TemperanceBrennan: These are my feelings 1000%. DH wants all gifts to come unwrapped from Santa. I grew up with some gifts from Santa, but the majority from parents. And At first I thought his parents were lazy to just have all the gifts out unwrapped 😂! I'm getting her the burlap sack next year, and whatever gifts can fit in that each year are from Santa. And those will be unwrapped. The rest are from us. No dear, that $250 gaming system didn't appear from a workshop. Mom and Dad work and earn money to pay for this stuff!

Santa brought all of our gifts growing up and they were not wrapped. He also fills the stockings. We didn't get anything from my parents. I'm planning to do the same for my kids. Never thought about why some kids got different/bigger gifts from Santa so I'm not too concerned about it.
