Your dream home looks amazing. I would go with dream home. We were too slow in bidding for our dream home and lost it. While I like the home we're living in now. I think about and regret not moving faster on our dream home all the time even 3 years later.

I guess the question is are you planning on it being your forever home? If so go with the dream house, but if you plan on only living there for 56-10 years go with the no mortgage (which I'm in LOVE with the kitchen!!!) and save up for another dream home!

I think #1, mostly because I don't care for split-level houses. It also makes the windows look too small on the outside. House 1 looks almost crazy perfect...like you just need a white picket fence and you're good to go, lol

We compromised on our 2nd house and a year later we are both ready to upgrade (if it didn't require moving). All houses have issues so I'd go with the one you love over the compromise. Just as an example, last week we found out our shingles were installed wrong so our 30 year shingles need to be replaced after 7 years...ugh.

I would actually go with house number 2 but that's bc saving $$ trumps living space for me...but I think I'm in the minority in that mindset and certainly, no judgement for wanting your dream house!

House #1 is beautiful but I do really like #2 too. For our family, we'd go with #2 if we were in your position. Good luck!

Having gone for the less expensive house the first time, I would certainly go for the dream home. We are looking at spending enough to make our home worth it for a long time AND most likely lose money on the home we own now because it's just not as desirable of a neighborhood.
