The brown seems almost too masculine... Like it's trying too hard to be gender neutral. The red is cheery and adorable though!

hmm I would say both are pretty gender neutral! I like the red better though

I picked the red one. I think it's way cuter and gender neutral, but the brown one is even more gender neutral (IMO) but not as cute.

i think they're both equally gender neutral. it just depends if you like the retro or modern style better.
i voted red.

I like the brown one but that's just my taste preference. They are both gender neutral to me!

@SweetMamaM: @stargal: @SugarplumsMom: @jmarionsmith: @Bao: Thanks! What do you gals think about white? Too white/not as neutral/nightmare to keep clean?

White is definitely cute but I would worry more about it staining as my kids started to make all sorts of crazy concoctions

Both are neutral to me. Red is cuter. The brown doesn't seem playful in comparison.

They're both gender neutral so it just comes down to your personal preference.
I like red bc it's such a happy color and it's just classic to me.
The brown looks more contemporary and modern but it's also beautiful. It does seem more masculine to me though

they both seem equally gender neutral, but I like the style of the brown one a lot more, personally! I definitely wouldn't go for a white one

@chopsuey: DH said brown since the picture has a boy in it
No white!!

@Smurfette: HAHAHA the guy I talked to on the phone said brown for the very same reason.
The only thing about the brown is that it looks so realistic and doesn't have counter/shelf space! :T
Ask what if the boy wasn't in the pic? lol

@chopsuey: He said no white but the red is fine for DS! Good point about the counter space. I would get red for that reason.

I voted brown, although I like them both. I think the red is cuter, but since it's vintage-y, it makes me thing of it as less gender neutral since that's the kind of the time period when women were generally the homemaker. That, however, is no reason not to get it, it's just the connection my brain made off the bat. White seems like a pain to clean, though, so I likely wouldn't get that set.

@chopsuey: I like them both, but think the red is best for both. And totally random, but I have a one time use $10 coupon code I got in the mail yesterday to use at pbkids if you're ordering and want it.

Oh they are both amazing! You must have a big space to put them in! Neither would fit in our house! I voted red, but I like both. The white is totally my taste when it comes to kitchens but It isn't really "playful" enough for kids.

I think the brown might be closer to your new kitchen???

@BananaPancakes: ahh you're so sweet! I actually ordered it and used a 15% off coupon I had. Thanks for offering your coupon though!

@chopsuey: which did you get? They are both so cute so you can't go wrong with either.

@chopsuey: I the white! Much easier to match with furniture. I don't think it's hard to keep clean.
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
@mrskc: red
@SugarplumsMom: I liked white too, but our pbk craft table and bookshelf are both white. Didn't want all the playroom furniture being white!

@chopsuey: great choice! When it arrives please post a pic of your play room.

Brown! But that red one is super cute, and I think both would work for a boy and girl.
