LO liked Mams.
She's really odd. She refused to take pacifier when she was younger and after the one we got at the hospital, Nuk and the Mams, I gave up. At 7 months, she found the Mams pacifier and took to it then and used it through 11 months when she spit it out again and refused to use it. Like I said, she's a weirdo

Soothies/Wubanub and Mam - Mam is what she ultimately took to after a good month + of convincing! She still is only moderately interested - just at nap time/bedtime and occasionally in the car.

LO 1- Nuks until thumb sucking started at 3 or 4 months
LO 2- Soothies until thumb sucking started at one month.
LO 3- Nuks (all silicone)

Avent were a good shape and small enough to stay in his mouth. The soothies never worked for us.

@simplyfelicity: dd1 didn't like pacis, dd2 likes wubannubs.

She likes Nuks. Never would take to a soothie so the wubbanub wasn't useful.

Nuk for all 3 of my kiddos

The NICU gave them Gumdrops pacifiers. Dog chewed one so we started giving them Soothies. Took a little bit before they preferred the Soothies but I recently found the Gumdrops one in the store. They prefer either one at this point. My babies are small so that's what I can say with babies that are a month old. Oh, with nicu/ preemie babies, pacifiers were used to help them learn the how to suck.

didn't like them at first then around 4-6 weeks was okay-ish with soothies/wubbanub but not like, obsessed with it. Then around 8 weeks she decided she loved avent. She's obsessed with avent still at 17 mo. Also you can buy these things called paci plushies that clip onto any brand paci to make it wubbanub-ish and that was really helpful for my lo to get it herself when she was little.

Nuk pacifier for us. Specifically ones without a ring attached to it. W likes his hands near his face and would always get a finger caught and yank it out.

Soothies for my first 2. My middle one is still using them so I had to use a different brand for the baby to avoid confusion. So far she likes the Tomme Tippie the best I think but will use Nuks too She doesnt like Advent from what I can see

@simplyfelicity: yeah, glad you found something he likes. It's MAMs for both of mine too.

We tried all the ones you did, hoping to find something that soothed her besides the boob, but she just never liked any of them and we gave up. On the plus side we never had to break her of the habit.

Honestly not even sure how hard I'll try with baby sister. I may offer them a little in the beginning but not even go crazy.

S got the Tommee Tippee kind right in the hospital and I kept giving it to her until she would take it. She eventually switched to MAM after her brother was born.
H got MAM and Tommee Tippee in the hospital. He took more to the MAM so we stuck with that. He eventually wouldn't take a pacifier at all after a couple months.
