My first was a late sept baby and I was home on Mat leave until the new year.
Pros- It was still nice enough to go out most days, I got all my christmas stuff done, I got paid for all the holidays, I timed it after my big project for the year was wrapping up.
Cons- I went back to work (and had to drive with baby) just as the weather was getting bad, She got her first cold at 5 weeks

With baby #2 i'm hoping to time it for a late may-early june delivery. My LO will have to stay with me while on Mat Leave and its easier to leave her program during the summer, plus we wont be stuck in the house all the time. Baby will start daycare in nice weather and not during cold/flu season

I've only had a Spring/April baby but it was great! We could get out for walks and I didn't have to worry about layering her up too much. Also, since I'm on an academic schedule, I was able to take the whole summer off without it interfering with my responsibilities

I've only had a spring baby (end of March) and it was fantastic! It wasn't too hot, we could go on lots of walks. It was nice to go have lunch with DH during the week and sit outside.

I had September and May. September was great because we could just hibernate the first 6 months! May was tough with a toddler because it got hot baby wearing and baby refused to just sit in car seat or stroller. Plus by the time he was actually interested in leaving the house it was winter!

I had a winter and a spring baby and spring was so nice! I didn't have flu season to battle!

Both my babies were fall but I really liked it. We were housebound during winter when they were itty bitty, but once they stared to get more active (ie, fun) the weather was warmer. I had so much fun in the sun with my DD before her first birthday and before I went back to work. Having a year mat leave makes a difference though. If I only had a few weeks I would probably have preferred a summer baby
