Sorry I couldn't add the newest name to the last poll! Sorry so annoying! I appreciate everyone's help and feedback because my brain is definitely in a knot over what to name this kid!

I knew a girl named Teagan and have always liked the name.

Teagan! I like them both but I like Teagan better with your DD's name.

Wow! My beloved Sawyer is getting pummeled:)
I am still getting used to the idea of Teagan, but I like the unexpectedness of it! It's really different but also really pretty.

@PrincessBaby: I saw in the other post the name Harper - is that DD's name? If so I LOVE Harper and Teagan as sisters!!!

I voted Teagan -- I like them both, but I like Teagan better with Rose. I feel like when I say "Sawyer Rose" the two consecutive Rs blend together, like it's all one word.

@dc yoga bee: Me too! Picture my heart, and the letters of "Sawyer" wrapped in and around it, just beating away:) But DH is not sold, unfortunately and that's making me try to be open to other names so I don't force Sawyer on him!
@Mamaof2: Yes:) DD1 is Harper:)

@photojane: He works nights (he's away at work) so he's asleep right now...I know he likes Reagan though, so I'm thinking he will?

Not Teagan!
(sorry, I'm making this harder). I like Blake way better than Teagan. Reminds me if Teagan and Sarah.

Why are we not considering Ellis? Harper and Ellis is perfect and Ellis has a very Sawyer quality to it.
I don't like Reagan either btw (but that may speak more to my personal biases).

I think both names are pretty, but I just love Sawyer! Love @mrsjacks suggestion of Ellis too. In the last thread when you mentioned preppy capital of the world I automatically thought Sloane. I'm partial to that though because it's my last name- albeit spelled differently and the name we give for restaurants, Starbucks, etc.
With Teagan or Sawyer it'll be great! I assume you aren't the type to wait and see what she looks like?

I love both names! I love Sawyer a little bit more but voted for Teagan bc it's both sophisticated and fun - well suited for a little girl and an adult.

I like Sawyer better. To me it's softer and rolls off the tongue easier. Teagen sounds harsh to me.

Of the two, I like Sawyer better.
Playing off of @Mrs. Jacks: 's suggestion, I think Elliott/Elliette could be nice for a girl, with a possible NN of Ellie (I know you prefer masculine, but that lets you go both ways).
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
@LibbyLou: I never can imagine how that works? Because newborns just look like newborns to me. All scrunched and red. Lol. I mean, I thought DD was beautiful, and she definitely had some of her current features like her little bow mouth and her crazy eyelashes, but she looked nothing like her newborn self even a few weeks/months later!
@Mrs. Jacks: I'm not down with Ellis. It's okay, but not pretty enough to me. I like masculine names, but I guess the ones I like tend to be prettier and more unisex but in a fem way. @dc yoga bee: It's not so much that I don't like it as much as it's just not for me. It's too president-y for me. Same thing with Kennedy.

I like both, but I think I prefer Sawyer. It sounds more southern too:)

@PrincessBaby: I feel the same way! I know a lot of people who have done it though. All babies look the same ish to me!

I think my issue with Sawyer in this case is it's almost too matchy matchy with Harper as a sibling set, but that's for my tastes! We've never had this issue but it must be reaaaally tough to be in love with a name and not have your SO be as into it!! Hopefully he comes around or you both fall in love with the perfect name.

@coopsmama: It is SO tough. He actually really likes it, but my husband is all about the facts. He does not make decisions based on emotion. So he would never be like "Omg I love love love this name and that's it!" He thinks hard on name choices and really feels it out, then if he decides it's worth mentioning, he does. He's just so even-keeled, and he doesn't want to feel like we are making a rash decision and did not look at all options. I guess he feels like if we looked at every name in the whole great wide world, and the only one we can BOTH agree to is Sawyer, then we made the right choice. Where as I just go with what feels right and once something does, I can hang it up.

@PrincessBaby: oh I understand and that makes a lot of sense! I would bet then that Sawyer will end up being your sweet baby's name if he does like it -- it's probably committing that is so hard for him. My DH and I are the opposite. With both kids we made completely rash decisions for their first names -- the middle names are always family names for us so that takes time to hammer out. But almost as soon as we knew the gender we took a name from our short list and went with it. It made me nervous both times but I found that the kids both seem like their names even if it wasn't completely thought out, so I agree with you about being able to hang it up. With DS we were watching Mad Men and thought of Cooper after the business named Sterling Cooper - we said it aloud once and just went with it. And with Marlowe I was browsing my DH's FB feed on his phone and saw that he had an acquaintance with the name. I mentioned it to him and he agreed it was a nice name and went well with Cooper - a week later we had our gender ultrasound and he called his parents and announced that was her name.
So yes, we are definitely in the "if it feels right it must be!" camp.

I didn't vote for either - I like Sawyer more than Teagan but don't LOVE Harper and Sawyer together. What about something like Emerson?
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
@coopsmama: Both are lovely names so I can see why you hung it up! We did make a rule that we both have to agree on the name, so yes you're right - by default Sawyer has a good shot bc it's the only one that we both really like so far. He's just so darn....rational!!!

@littlebittyhouse: DH nixed that one when we were talking names for DD1. He said it's a TV brand. Such a dude

@littlebittyhouse: I could be down with Emerson. Emmie is too cute!

Thought of two more. You've probably already thought of at least one of these: Avery (used to be a boy name, now firmly girl and beautiful) and Tristan. I don't think too many people are using Tristan for girls yet, which is why I'm soooo excited about it. It's a great name and for a girl, even better! Tristan and Harper work great together.
I'm digging deep for you, girl

@littlebittyhouse: yeah, when I thought of it, my heart skipped a beat!!!
