Bee and I don't watch TV together that much these days, but when we do we usually watch DVR. So we'll watch either Castle (our show) or American Idol (her show)... and she doesn't usually mind just sitting through the commercials (or checking mail during that time). So that forces me to fast forward through the commercials, so I end up controlling the remote for that part.
Who controls the remote when you and your SO both watch TV together?

We don't watch TV together, but when we did, DH always watched my shows with me.

We usually watch DVR'd shows and I'm usually on charge of the remote because my husband can never remember to fast forward the commercials, and I hate watching commercials if I don't have to! Lol

DH does. Though none of us like to do it. He's better at it though so he gets stuck with it.

We watch DVR shows mostly, so even though we watch shows together, the person whose show it is gets the remote. But the difference is that I am a demon with the fast forward.....I fast forward through boring parts (reality shows, that's like...70%), and DH hates that, even if it's a show he doesn't even like.
Like.....I like Dancing with the Stars, but hate all the judges talking and what-not, so I fast forward through everything except the actual dances. I can watch an hour episode in 20 minutes. And DH is always like, "if we're going to watch this show, I at least want to watch the whole thing". lol

It depends on it one of us is eating something. The person who isn't will fast forward through the commercials.

If one of my shows is on, I do. Otherwise, I usually let DH do the flipping.
