I just got my BFP today so just myself and DH know. I'm 4 weeks.
Ill not tell work and other people until after our 12 week scan but I would really like to tell my mum (if not ill have to stay away from her for 8 weeks) haha., but wondered if I should wait until I have seen a doctor?

I told my sister immediately, but I waited to tell parents until I was 16 weeks. And I didn't Facebook out myself until we had the little guy. Previous m/c makes you gun shy. I say if you are close to your mom, tell her! Telling my family was the best....everyone was so excited! When is your doctor's appointment? You can keep it a secret between the two of you until then.

Congrats! We told our parents a few days after we found out. Our OB won't see us until 10 weeks and we knew we would have told them if anything went wrong anyway. It was fun to have someone to share in the excitement. Everyone else we waited until we either gad heard the heartbeat or had our first ultrasound.

We found out at about 4 weeks and our Dr. made us wait until 8 weeks to see her. We went in, saw the scan of the heartbeat using the "fun" dildo wand (sorry, but thats what it reminds me of...) and immediately went to my parents house and spilled our guts! We used the time in between to think of fun ways to announce the pregnancy. It was so hard waiting but I was just terrified of making a big announcement and then getting to the appt and finding out it was a false positive.

I told DH and my brother at the same time and texted my sister right after. I couldn't hold it in!! But I calmed down after that and didn't tell anyone else until 12 weeks, my mom and dad and Inlaws we're not happy we waited so long to tell them.
But, it will be about the same if/when we get pregnant again

Congrats! I told after our 12wk scan...I think it was around 14-15wks as we wanted to tell close family in person and didn't live nearby.

We told our parents and a couple other people who we knew would be our "support people" should something go wrong, and waited til 12 weeks to tell everyone else.

I told my best friend via txt immediately. We told our parents in person at 11 weeks. (I would have waited til after the first trimester tests, but it was my dad's birthday so we told them a little bit early.) I told my sister at a one-on-one dinner sometime in between, probably around 8-9 weeks. I wanted to warn her that I would be dropping this news at dad's birthday because I suspected that my parents would make it more about them becoming grandparents and ignore the news that she will be a new aunt. That is just what our parents are like. (I was right.)

We told my parents at 5 weeks, my sister at 10 weeks, the rest of our family at 11 weeks after our second scan (I had some bleeding). I didn't put anything on Facebook until 20 weeks.

I told my mom and sister immediately. They knew we were TTC. I told my aunt after my beta confirmed pregnancy; she knew we were TTC, too, and was supposed to give me my novarel shot (I ended up not needing it).
We told my dad on his bday (NYE), and my ILs a few days later. I think I told my brother and SIL the same day. I was 7 weeks when I told the rest of my immediate family.

I told one friend the same day but I told her I don't want to talk anymore about it till after a doctors appointment. Then it was another week before I told my parents, waited to tell in person.

I told my parents immediately but I was also abroad and had used their frequent flyer miles to travel and needed to figure out if I could change my flight to come home early! Dh wanted to wait longer but I was all alone so the situation changed our plan. We told his fam at 6 weeks, after my first appointment, bc we were staying with them and it would have been obvious anyway and more stressful to hide for us

We told our parents immediately (like 4 hours after I tested haha). I thought about waiting, but decided that if I miscarried I would rather my parents knew and could be there for support instead of having to mourn alone. Thankfully, the pregnancy was healthy! We went public on FB after the NT scan.

We told my parents when we were 6 weeks, mainly because I had told them all about the fertility treatments I was supposed to start and I didn't want to have to lie to them when they started asking how it was going. At this point I had betas done confirming HCG was rising steadily.
Then DH felt that his parents should know too, so we told them at 7 weeks.
Now basically our whole family and many friends know and we're almost at 10 weeks. The only place we haven't posted anything is Facebook and we're waiting until 12 weeks for that.
In the end we shared the news earlier than I originally would have liked, but oh well.

My best friend/DH's best friend came to visit for the wknd when I was 8.5 weeks. We had a US at 7 weeks so felt ok telling them then.
We told my mom/step dad, DHs parents, sister, brother, SIL on our family trip when I was almost 10 weeks. Told our neighbours just before our 12 week scan because they were heading on a two week trip and we wanted them to find out through us instead of someone else accidentally when they got back!
Told my siblings/dad at 12 weeks right after my US and slowly told people after that. We would have waited until 12 weeks to tell everyone, but not drinking gave things away.Told work at about 15 weeks and FB at 20 weeks.

My best friend knew within hours. Then I waited to tell my sister until around 6wk, followed by DH's parents at 8wk. We told the rest of the family at 9wk.

My DH was still asleep when I got my BFP. I texted a picture of it to my BF so she was the first to know. She had gotten her BFP three weeks earlier!

With the 1st, we told our parents and my sister right after we got the BFP. The rest of the family found out within a few days.
With our 2nd, we told the family the next day at DS' 1st bday party.

I told my mom like a week after my first faint positive. I didn't have my first appointment until I was 9.5 weeks, so there was no way I was waiting that long for my parents. I told everyone slowly after my appointment - no big announcement or anything.

I told my best friend 3 days after I found out. I knew they would be there if anything wrong happened, so I was okay with them knowing.
Our parents weren't told until we were 8 weeks and had been to the doctor.

I told my best friend immediately, because I was 100% freaking the heck out. My sister got married when I was 5 weeks, and I was planning on waiting until after the wedding to tell my parents, mostly to keep from stealing the spotlight. This seemed totally feasible, because we live out of town from them. But, I was so, so sick by that point that my mom had me figured out in about 5 minutes. I got a, "so, how are you feeling?" the first time we were alone, and out it came. Honestly, it was such a relief to have her know! I needed my mama
We told my MIL after our first scan at 6 weeks and my sisters after my 9 week scan. Our extended family found out at 12 weeks, other close friends around 14, and we announced to FB at 26 weeks.

I'm a bad wife, I kind of told a co-worker before my DH. I unexpectedly got my BFP one morning right after he left for work...and he left his cell phone at home(and I wanted to tell him in person anyways,) plus I had to work the late shift so it would be over 12 hours until I got to tell him.
I was determined to keep it a secret but was totally bursting to tell someone, anyone...and right after I got to work a co-worker that I'm friends with walked around the corner and said, "Okay, so I need to tell you something, but you can't tell anyone else." I was immediately like, "OMG me too, can I go first?! Ok? I'm pregnant!!!" Hahaha. Luckily she kept my secret - her DH also worked with us and when I finally told the rest of my co-workers (after our first ultrasound) it was clear he had no idea.
I would tell your mom. I told my parents because even if I did miscarry I would want them to know.

It was really important to tell our families in person (even though we live 8+ hours away from any of them) so our situation was a little different. We told DH's mom and step-father when we visited them for Thanksgiving (around 7 weeks); I work for my OB's office, so they all found out at 9 weeks when I went in for my first OB appointment-but everyone kept it on the DL until we told my parents while visiting at Christmas (11 weeks); then finally we announced on FB to everyone that hadn't heard yet at 14 weeks after first trimester screening came back.
For a while it was confusing remembering who knew and who didn't! I was so glad to get to announce to my parents/siblings in person- I wouldn't have traded that for the world.

I wanted to add: the first two times I got pregnant, we lost the baby, and my mom didn't know I was pregnant until after I miscarried. That was a horribly heartbreaking thing to have to tell her, especially because she had no idea we even were trying. There were a few times during this pregnancy where we thought we might lose baby, and I was glad to be able to tell my mom what I was going through. I'm glad she knew as early as she did.

I told my parents at 6 weeks. They figured it out. We told DH's family around 13 weeks. FB found out at 20 weeks AFTER my MIL revealed it before we did. One of DH's friends asked if I was pregnant based on MIL's post. Next one, she'll know when FB knows.

After calling the doctor and scheduling an appointment, I called DH to tell him. I waited until I got home and told my mom. We waited to tell DH's family because SIL had just had a baby and we didn't want to barge in on her attention. We told them about a week or two later. After we told DH's family we told close friends and extended family. We didn't come out on FB until we knew it was another boy and everything was ok. (so around 20-22 weeks).

We told both sets of parents and siblings after the initial ultrasound at about 8 weeks. Didn't tell anyone else until the 20 week anatomy scan.

I told my BFF before the wondfo was dry, before I even got the digital test! lol I then told a few other good friends that same day (after the digital), and I told my parents a few days later the first time I saw them. We told the rest of our family and friends around 8-9 weeks after we'd done our first ultrasound. And we went full public at 12 weeks.

Parents at 5 weeks, very close friends and a couple other family members after the scan at 7.5 weeks. I will share with a few friends when I see them at 11 weeks and work depends on how long I can stay incognito. I'm kind of just playing the rest of the announcements by ear.

I didn't trust the HPT so I waited until a confirmation doctor's appointment. The first people I told were my two sisters and their husbands and it was about a week after my BFP. The next day we told both sets of parents and other siblings.
We didn't tell anyone else until 14 weeks.

I told my mom a few hours after I tested, because D had gone to work and I was freaking out (previous miscarriage that she knew about). I also told my SIL, who we had been staying with to help her with her kids, the same day.
We told D's family right around 7 weeks. It was before the scan, but it was also Christmas....
We told my dad and stepmom after our 8 week ultrasound, my siblings over the next week, and the rest of the world at 13 weeks, after our NT scan.

We were on vacation, staying with one of my best friends and her family. She was practically waiting outside the bathroom door for me, ha ha. So Hubs, then her and her husband. Then I called my sister. I told my 2 closest friends at work around 8 weeks because I needed one of them to cover my on-call while I went to our first ultrasound. We didn't tell anyone else until 12 weeks.

Congrats! How exciting! We told close friends and family right away! After our first ultrasound at eight weeks, we gradually began telling more and more people. We FB announced at 15 weeks.
But, it will be about the same if/when we get pregnant again
