They've predicted 15" of snow for us over the next twelve hours and 35-55mph winds. I'm dreading it!!! DH will be out plowing for the state tonight and it makes me so nervous thinking about him being out in blizzard-like weather.

We have freezing rain at the moment but it's going to turn into snow with gusty winds. Oh joy.

We are! 10-14 inches, the winds are suppose to be bad this afternoon.
I am trying to decide if these contractions are real, or are going to fade off. It will take us a while to get into the hospital, but I don't want to make the trek in if it is not real:(

@mrsmenow: Oh my I couldn't imagine! Stay safe if you decide to go in. The winds are already pretty bad here... gusts up to 55mph. You must be getting the same storm as we are here. Just be careful!

@Bao: I'd be nervous too. DH plows for the state so he is out there now... Hopefully coming home soon. I'm staying home too.. Gonna do a pedi, wrap some presents and bake. (High hopes... I'll probably sit on the couch all day!). Prayers your hubby makes it home safely!

Raining right now but they are predicting 1" overnight. In reality people will run out buy all the milk and bread that grocery stores have and we will get absolutely no snow.

So jealous! We lived in Minnesota for a year last year and were so excited about experiencing a real winter. And of course they had one of the lowest snow amounts ever. Now we live in NC and it was like 65 yesterday.

No snow here, but it was hella windy last night!! All my lawn equipment blew into my pool and my neighbor's trash cans were in the middle of the street. I love the snow though!

We are getting snow right now in St Louis! Its not really sticking though.

We're supposed to get 10-12 inches today. What we do have so far is really wet and heavy though, which is way worse than 10-12 inches of light and fluffy!
It's super windy right now, and I'm really worried we're going to lose power. We got 26 inches of wet snow back in March and lost power for a week. I'm hoping that doesn't happen again!
My hubby is also working outside in the snow. I think he said he'd be shoveling today, and he drives from job to job, sometimes up to 40 miles between them, so I'm also worried!

@Ash: He came home, but left again...Is your hubby done plowing? Mine plows our private dirt road but not on any major roads. Last bad snowstorm we had, our plow truck got stuck probably 50 times! He plowed from 6 pm - 2 am, and then again from 7 am - noon. Hoping it's not that bad again! Where do you live? We're in northern Michigan.

I said it before, but I couldn't live in a place that you get lots of snow. My mindset is that of a southern person. It snows, you stay home.

@JamieLee: He barely made it home around noon-ish and all he did was come in to eat lunch and then he left. He went to stay at his brother's because our road and driveway are blown shut and he had to be back tonight and wouldn't have made it out (I wouldn't have minded that)! We're in eastern Iowa. They said our grand total is 12"+. What makes it even worse where we live is that we live in the boonies on a hill... so we get slammed. Hope your DH makes it back safely!!!!! :))

@Ash: We also live in the boonies on a hill! We're really close to Lake Michigan too (like 1 mile off one of the bays) so we get slammed by lake effect. Living on a hill makes a big difference, especially when it comes to the wind, I think! Hope you don't have to go anywhere while your road is blown shut, and hope you guys are done with Winter Storm Draco.

@JamieLee: Thank you! I am just home by myself hanging out with my animals... haha! Nowhere to go until work on Saturday, thank goodness! And yes, the wind is 100x worse on a hill. How's it looking there? Is it letting up?
