Now that I've hit my 30's, am I supposed to be hosting? It's just so convenient going over to our parents for dinner! I know at some point roles will reverse and I will start cooking the fancy dinners at our house.
Where is your Easter dinner or when did you start hosting your big family gatherings?

Me me me! My moms house is so much bigger and can host out huge family better. Plus she's such a good cook

DH is almost 30 and his mom, aunts, and grandma all argue over who wants to host! The 'kids' have never hosted! They all chomp at the bit to!! It will be a very long time until we host. I have no desire to have 20+ people In my home. Nor do I have the seating, even though our home is the second largest in the family!

Yep...went to inlaws last night and my parents house is later today. As long as they're willing to host, I'll go along with it. I don't mind hosting, but both houses are like a hub for both our families.

We do! My parents have the whole family over. We always go someplace for every holiday. My family always gets together.

We went to my parents house yesterday for dinner and I will go to the ILs today for dinner.
With my side of the family we take turns and I have hosted a few holidays. When it is at our house we will all cook and serve together so it isn't overwhelming at all.

We are going to my in laws tonight! And if we were near my parents we'd go there too. We have hosted before though, because I love to cook!

We switch off. We always get together for all holidays & sometimes it's at my parents & sometimes it's at our house. The first couple times hosting was a lil weird since it was such a role reversal, but now I've gotten used to it.
Tonight, we're going to my parents for Easter : )

We haven't been home for Easter in a long time. We usually go over to my older sisters house or the DH's mom's house. But now that my parents' house has been renovated and my other sister bought a house. I'm not sure where my family eats on Easter.
I probably won't be in the running to host until we buy a house. Maybe in the next two years when we move closer to home.

I'm Jewish, but holiday meals are at our parents. Dh and I discussed it and decided I'm not going to offer to host until my lo and hopefully future los are older so cooking with a baby isn't such a hassle. Plus both of our families live here so that would be a lot of people to have in our tiny house.

We (DH and his brothers and their families) go to my ILs. DH is out of town this year but the rest of us are here.

We would if we lived in the same country! The thought of hosting a big dinner makes me go cold: all that prep/cooking/people to seat/washing up/cleaning - how do people do it???

We do! My parents in the morning and IL's later....DH prefers my mom's cooking so we usually hang out at my parents long and go to his parents late enough that we don't have to eat there.
