When I turn the knob on my (gas) stove burners, it goes straight from LITE to 10 (the highest flame).
The other day, the olive oil I was cooking on caught on fire... and in order to shut off the flame, I had to increase the flame until I passed 10 and got to OFF. That seems a bit crazy to me! I get that it's a bit more convenient when you want a hot flame, but it also seems quite a bit more dangerous...
When you turn off your gas stove burners, is the OFF setting above 10 or below 0 on the knob? Just wondering if all stoves are like this!
